Suspicions that the London bombings were carried out by suicide bombers grew, as police declared their first arrest in a fast-moving investigation into the bloodiest bombings on British soil since World War II.
Police believed they had identified four suspects over the bombings, and that it was "very likely" that one of the men who carried out the attacks last Thursday was among the dead.
