TIME Inc. Editor Norman Pearlstine To Hand Over Reins To Successor Before Nov. 1...

TIME Inc. Editor in Chief Norman Pearlstine is expected to formally hand over the reins to Editorial Director John Huey sometime on or before Nov. 1, knowledgeable sources told Media Ink.

Pearlstine has led the nation's largest magazine publisher for 11 years.

The tentative handoff date could be moved up, but it will be no later than Nov. 1, a source said.

The move has been widely telegraphed and an orderly transition from 63-year-old Pearlstine to 57-year-old Huey has been under way for the past year.
