In a strange, soap-operatic twist, Villaraigosa served as best man at the 2005 wedding of California State Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, who said he once dated Mirthala Salinas. She, in turn, also dated state Sen. Alex Padilla back when he was a city councilor, the L.A. Weekly said yesterday.
