Just 12 per cent of married men, however, admitted picking the wrong wife. Over 35s were asked to name their biggest regrets for the study.

Riverroad:
What a load of BALONEY?!!! For Christ's sake... how can one person come up with such feminazi bullshit. Stuff it, riverroad, OR go jump in the river. Better still, lie on the road while a fast moving tanker approaches.

Thank you for providing an example of male verbal violence in response to a female perspective. You're a good little soldier for male tyranny.

Marriage is the ultimate divide-and-conquer institution of our society. Each woman is paired with a man and deprived of sisterhood and solidarity with other women.

Look at the basis of male dominance. Nature made a fatal mistake--from the female perspective--when it made males larger and physically stronger than females. In addition to that, females are endowed with child-bearing capability and a strong maternal instinct.

The result has been the tyranny of male over female. He is physically stronger, does not bear children, and is not encumbered with the maternal instinct. Moreover, patriarchal society uses the "each one teach one" method of controlling females individually through "one man, one woman" marriage.

Today there is a particularly intense form of male rule in the USA that many call fascism. Maleness/militarism are held so supreme that a token handful of women "succeed" essentially by impersonating men. Think of Hillary Clinton and her struggle to "prove" that she is just as willing to perpetrate wars as a man.

Of course women are dissatisfied in marriages. The bubble bursts when he begins to show who's boss.

Also, married and single women are happiest according to a study. I think the logic is married men have someone to take care of them and single women only have to take care of themselves.

Agreed.

Sounds to be like marriage should be abolished as a civil insitution and replaced with civil unions for any and all, same or opposite sex. Leave the "marriage" for the churchies that think that having some preacher mumble some quasi-religious BS is a wonderful thing, and let the rest of us have civil contracts that can be amended, or dissolved, as needed between the parties involved...

...or would that make too much sense.

it's a cliche that men marry a woman for what she is, and that women marry a man for what she thinks he'll be. if there's reality behind that cliche, then it's easy to see who's more likely to be disappointed down the road.

Does this indicate that women are twice as likely to be wrong as men? Ladies, it's a joke...I think.

It seems that straight people should worry less about forcing gays to like/marry the opposite sex and worry more about themselves. Straight relationships don't seem to be much better.

Women have more of a tendency to pick someone who they think will take care of them. The feminist movement notwithstanding.

And, some folks say (with a straight face) that gays are a threat to traditional marriage between a man and a woman?!? ROFLMAO!

Someone please send this story to Karl Rove and the RNC!

This doesn't count the people who regret choosing their spouse but for whom that isn't their greatest regret, or the people who lie. Add that to the number of people who actually divorce, and you've got a pretty sorry picture of marriage.
