Pete Doherty Arrested... Again

Police arrested Pete Doherty, best known as the ex-boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss, on Monday in east London on suspicion of drug possession.

A police spokesman confirmed a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and was in custody at an east London police station. Because of police force rules, he could not name the suspect.

Earlier this month, a judge warned Doherty that he must prove his desire to quit drugs or face a jail sentence for other drug offenses.

The guy is a loser. He just doesn't seem to care that he is ruining himself. Many others have made these same sad mistakes before. Recall Layne Staley of Alice in Chains.

Seems to me they need to finally chuck the book at him for his own good. He's been getting away with making puppy-eyes at judges over and over again, and then going straight back to his self-destructive ways. I haven't really followed his music since Carl Barat gave him his marching orders from the Libertines ... but whatever talent is left there, is overshadowed by his amazing determination to destroy anything of value in his life.

doherty is a brilliant musician/composer/poet (astonishingly brilliant, given the vicious monkey that he's had on his back since his teens). sadly, he's pushing 30, a time when gifted, addicted artists seem to run out of chances. i just hope he ends up in jail and not a coffin.
