BBC:

Star Wars couple Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen have been voted as having the least plausible on-screen chemistry by film fans.

The pair beat Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's performance in Gigli - which was made when they were a real life couple - into second place.

Former duo Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman also made the list with Eyes Wide Shut.

They got that right with Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman on Star Wars.

I've seen better acting in fast-acting Tinactin.

It's interesting how a (formerly) married couple like Kidman and Cruise threw off no sparks at all and the temperature dropped by 12 degrees when they were on screen together. Nicole, never marry a short guy. They are always trying to make up for being short.

The absolute worst screen pairing ever was John Travolta and Lily Tomlin.

John Travolta and Lily Tomlin!

How about Rambo in Rambo II and the female Asian resistance fighter (played by Julia Nickson-Soul) who escorted him through the jungle to his destination?

Great comments.

I agree COMPLETELY with the list's #1 couple.

Lucas' poor dialogue was the tip of the iceberg on that thing. The lines were DELIVERED poorly and flatly, too.

"Youlooksobeautiful."
"Thankyougoodtoseeyouagainhoney."

It culminated in their god awful last scene together in the last film when it seemed as if Natalie Portman was stabbing a knife into her back so she could feign pain and sorrow.

The couple with the least screen chemistry of all time should be Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy. Through all their many movies together, neither of them showed a single spark of passion. Why the audiencies loved them, I have no idea.

Hugh Grant and anyone.... Always the same asshole in every movie, and I think he creeps his co stars out.

Jodie Foster and Matthew McConaughey in 'Contact'. Awful, no chemistry, no nothing.

And, I, too, thought that Patrick Swayze and jennifer Grey worked.

Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey? I thought they were great together. She was the stuff little boys dreams were made of for a while there. Of course it's been 20 years since I've seen it.

Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton on Fox's upcoming sitcom. I know it's just a promo but I don't sense anything appealing. I will give the series a chance when it will debut.

In my opinion, the overall chemistry between Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen during every seen filmed together, was good; it was the poor movie scripts that took away from their ability to be 'convincing' enough in the final product. That, and their performances being overshadowed by the nonstop barrage of 'special effects' that were used way too much; probably because of the poor scripts.

Having a great script is always key above acting talent.

The scripts were bad, that's true. Lucas writes the worst dialog. He also doesn't know how to direct actors.
