Reviews Are In: "Anchorwoman" Is Shallow

First Posted: 03/28/08 03:44 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:10 PM ET

If you hate women, men, Texas, Los Angeles, television news and any of the social progress made by Americans in the 20th century, then "Anchorwoman" is the show for you.

On the new Fox reality series, Phil Hurley, owner of the struggling KYTX in Tyler, Texas, has hired Lauren Jones, L.A. model, WWE spokeswoman and general bombshell, to anchor the news, despite the fact (or because of it) that she has no previous news experience. Let the catfighting and dumb blond jokes begin!

Shallow? Then it should be an outstanding success since, as another of today's HuffPo items points out, only 1 in 4 have read a book this past year. That means the show has a huge target audience.

Well, aren't they all shallow?
On this topic, I've decided I can't even take the Olberman show after the first 20 minutes. Tonight the anchorwoman subbing for Keith was all giggly enjoying the story about a dog owner who shot his dog. What the hell is funny about that? Disgusting.

I predict "sky's the limit" success.

Honesty always sells. CNN will be cringing cause this show will highlight their blonde bimbos (OK not all are blonde) in an unfavorable way cause they take themselves so "seriously" about the news."

Thanks for playing, Marv. The show is canceled already.

Or are you now going to claim the quotation marks show you were being ironic?
