Documents obtained by IraqSlogger show Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki's chief Iraqi opponent, Ayad Allawi, is paying Washington lobbyists with close ties to the White House $300,000 to help with Allawi's efforts in the U.S. to promote himself and undermine Maliki.

The powerhouse Republican firm retained by Allawi is Barbour, Griffith, & Rogers (BGR), and its BGR International unit is headed by President's Bush's one-time White House point man on Iraq, Robert Blackwill, who will lead the lobbying efforts on Allawi's behalf.

Since the Iraqis are acting like Americans by hiring K St types-we now have proof that Iraq is indeed an American style demockracy. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, already. Let's pull out now, take our marbles & go home. OK, Iraqi factions still off each other but don't sweat the small stuff. The Iraqi people are adapting demockracy to their unique situation, thats all.
Bring the troops home.

"Allawi has been described as "Saddam lite." In 2004, he handcuffed and blindfolded six suspected terrorists and shot them in the head with a pistol. Now, with frustrations mounting against current prime minister Maliki, the administration may be using that as an opportunity to usher in its reliable ally Allawi." spanone

I bet Busholini wished he could get away with executing evil doers personally before they have a trial.

I remember that:

http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/07/16/1089694568757.html

Love this bit:

"US officials in Iraq have not made an outright denial of the allegations. An emailed response to questions from the Herald to the US ambassador, John Negroponte, said: "If we attempted to refute each [rumour], we would have no time for other business. As far as this embassy's press office is concerned, this case is closed."

Haley Barbour was once mentioned as a presidential candidate. GOD FORBID. If he stood alongside Rove and Limbaugh you would have a hard time telling them apart. FAT GREEDY BLOW HARD scumbags. BY the way, who wants to bet that Trent Lott's vacation home has already been repaired? He only lives there part time, not like the other people who lost everything. Georgie said he was looking forward to sittin' on the porch with Lott. With any luck it would be during a hurricane. (Wishful thinking on my part)

The first rough draft of the Lobbyists new slogans didn't test well in the coveted age group 18-30 yo. Iraqi men.

"We're fighting them here, so we don't have to fight them there"

and

"they'll follow us home, if we had homes"

So the republiCON slime wants to use their power, the power of propaganda and spin, to oust an oilman they put into power? Why the surprise?

Chalabi, Allawi, are both merchants of death and lies. They represent all that the republiCON party stands for; money, oil, fear, fascism, propaganda, and incompetence. They are just doing what they do best. Promoting and selling death and war. And they know that Allawi will give them a bigger slice of the stolen American cash that is being ripped of every day.

Prime Minister Maliki is done. Stick a fork in him! Am I the only one who thinks the "powerhouse Republican firm retained by Allawi" is really working for someone other than Allawi?

There's no creativity here, this is no departure from the hoodwinking 4 years ago. Right NY Times?

Please please please so-called Main Stream Media, please please please don't let the so called online media have to break this news. Report it! Follow it and report it some more.

Isn't that headline a bit JUMBLED?

Shouldn't it really read:

"GOP Lobbyists Hire Fmr Iraq PM To Undermine Current Iraqi PM Maliki"

I mean give me a break... just how bend-over-backwards far will the GOP go, to make it's effort to oust Maliki falsely appear to be at the suggestion of someone else, someone in Iraq?

Give me a break.

The GOP wants Maliki out, because he's not going to sign their "oil revenue sharing law"... he's not going to privatize Iraq's vast reserves of oil, into the hands of Exxon-Mobil and Chevron and Shell and BP...

That's why the GOP, and their lobbyists, are trying to "undermine current Iraqi PM Maliki", because he won't give them (Exxon-mobil etc.) Iraq's oil...

Allawi is being used here, as a 'stalking horse'.
