Burglars Break Into Dodd's Connecticut Office

HARTFORD, Aug. 26 (AP) -- Burglars broke into Senator Christopher J. Dodd's office here late Saturday, taking undisclosed items and leaving evidence at the scene, the police said.

Investigators declined to say what was stolen or what was left behind at the office, which is on Lewis Street.

Sgt. Reggie Allen told WFSB-TV that the police want to immediately process "properties that were left on the scene."

Jamie Radice, a spokeswoman for Mr. Dodd, confirmed the break-in, but said she was not sure what was taken.

The police said they believe that the suspects jumped from the roof of a building next door onto the fire escape of the building that houses Mr. Dodd's office and broke in through a second-story window. The burglary occurred between 10 and 11 p.m., they said.

Mr. Dodd, who has served in Congress for more than 30 years, is seeking the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.

i like dodd ,at the same time i doubt he has a chance of even getting a fourth spot in primaries ,having that said , i don't think hillary has anything to do with it. plus , hillary is not going to win the primary as long as the underdog Edwards there, his campaign getting very very good as days passing by,and i am certain he will be the next P. i am voting for him because he deserve my vote.his VP likely to be Sen. Could it be a Rove/Cheney operation? My hunch is the White House is bugging all the Democratic Presidential candidates' offices. Dodd probably has something really devestating on the White House and they want to know which of their heretofor undisclosed crimes he's on to.

But anybody who thinks that underhanded political action is brilliantly done has to remember Watergate. They went in and left some plumber's tape on the door so it wouldn't lock on them. $6.00 an hour security guard notices it on his rounds and takes off the tape. They leave, but then realize they have to go back. Tape up the door again. Security guard sees the tape he took off is back, and he phoned the D.C. cops.

From this, Nixon was kicked out of office.

An illegal war, stolen elections, osama still at large, a politicized justice department, suspension of habeus corpus, illegal wiretapping, leaking of CIA operative's names, and threatening war with Iran isn't enough to get people into the streets and oust and impeach this president and his cronies. If it happens that Dodd's break-in is a Republican stunt, I doubt that this incident would be enough to push this administration out. On the other hand, one can always pray that if it is a Republican ploy, maybe it will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Very interesting response. You can tell when Democrats post a factual statement when the far right comes out of the woodwork and posts the most insane posts. My cousin was living in Florida in 2000 and he was a Republican poll official. He has since changed parties as I have because of the rotten things done to disenfranchise Democratic voters. The entire felons list was provided by Harris cronies. From then on, it was all down hill as for as the morality of Republicans.
