Associated Press:

Iraq's beleaguered prime minister on Sunday lashed out at American critics who have called for his ouster, saying Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Carl Levin need to "come to their senses."

Nouri al-Maliki, who is fighting to hold his government together, issued a series of stinging ripostes against a variety of foreign officials who recently have spoken negatively about his leadership. But those directed at Democrats Clinton, of New York, and Levin, of Michigan, were most strident.

Isn't Iraqi a democracy? What this about Regime change? Hillary you are sounding more like Bush every day. Kept up the good work!

Touching, it really is.

Cowardly Islamic militias and al Qaeda - Iraq division are at war with the U.S. military, and Malaki.

Senators Levin and Clinton are at war with the Bush administration, and Malaki.

Oh, the irony.

Maybe we can invade Iraq again to overthrow the Maliki government. Tell me again why we are supporting this creep?

Hey Maliki,
You need to show some strength and soon beofre you hear the whistle of a bullet passed your ear, sponsored by the CIA, or another CIA sponsored coup, like what happened with democratically Mossadegh in Iran 4 decades ago. I hope you have vetted your own security service because....

Allawi's Muscle: The CIA-Controlled Iraqi National Intelligence Service
By Spencer Ackerman - August 24, 2007, 2:23 PM

Alleged billion dollar thief Hazem Shaalan isn't Ayad Allawi's only infamous friend. Allawi is also a close ally of the head of Iraq's largest intelligence service -- a man who takes his billions from Washington, not Baghdad.

On the ground in Baghdad is a sprawling intelligence operation called the Iraqi National Intelligence Service, or INIS. Only INIS isn't really "National" at all. To the great chagrin of the Maliki government, it's financed and controlled by the CIA. And its boss is a longtime Allawi friend and CIA asset, Muhammed Shahwani.

continued..

The oil companies want their oil deal and Allawi's name is popping up way too much these days.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...

Reid was right.

It does not matter who they put in charge, it is lost.

Malarki is going to Iran and Syria for help after we withdraw.

Time for w and cheney to man up and resign in disgrace.

Of course, they have no honor and will not.

At the pearly gates , you will asked if you supported the Iraq disaster.

I am happy I chose the right path.

The rumor in Baghdad is a coup is already being planned. Maliki will be toppled and Ayad Allawi and Al Jaafari will take over. It will be a dictatorship under the guise of an " emergency government.

Maliki is about to get Ngo Din Diemed...

Oil,oil, oil, it always seems to be about oil. That's why we should totally mess them up and develop cars that run on renewable energy,
also heat/cool homes with renewable energy.

That'll take away most of their market.

Levin & Mrs. Bill Clinton to Maliki - "Listen up, and get this good! You're gonna do what we tell you to do, when we tell you to do it! Get me? When we say jump, you're gonna ask 'How high?' Because if you don't, well... We might just have to find us somebody who will. Got it?"

By the way, who does Levin & Mrs. Bill Clinton want to put in Maliki`s place?

Your post reads very well with an Edward G. Robinson accent. When it comes to politics by old movie scrips from the 1930's you know we are in trouble.

researcher, people are in denial and attack the messengers every time they mention Lieberman's role in this mess. It is one sided argument.

Why would Chertoff be replaced and Gonzo removed? Chertoff and gang has to control the U.S. populace by police state.

In my view, Bush Sr., is a clever politician, if he is crossed, he has the Russians protecting his interests in the mid-east.

Politics as usual stinks.

Oh, you people and your 'police state', it's ridiculous already.

Why would they even need to bother?

Americans have been lied into a war, had habeus corpus suspended at the whim of a loon, torture other human beings and now can be spied on in the bathtub, and nobody has lifted a finger.

Police state indeed!
HA!
Americans are imprisoned by their own inertia.

our politicans can smell the money from the corporate donations from that oil.

and from the jewish lobbyists when we finish that oil pipeline to israel.

libbermann must have an orgasm every night thinking about all that oil going to israel.

And there's a lot of Red Blood mixed into that Dark Black Oil. George W. Bush wanted to give it a little color.

I believe Mr. Al Maliki is right. All of this negative stuff about him close to the time when General Petraeus is to give his report, and while the Whitehouse is trying to sell us the lie that progress is being made militarily!!!...something is really fishy. I think this administration, who will not be held accountable under any circumstances ,is swiftboating the prime minister, and saying that it is all Al Maliki's fault..Baloney!! we invaded and destroyed his country with an illegal war..we are to blame..Mr.Al Maliki may not be the best prime minister, but we have put him in an awful predicament...I also wander if our government wants to oust him because he will not pass the "oil law" whichwould put the oil reseves into the hands of big oil...The situation is very complicated and I do not believe a single word of what this administration and our politicians are saying!!

The UN in the USA out.

A UN scripted new Iraq Constitution for a Parliamentary Federation of Provinces. Headed by a chair person, like Jean Chretien, a Constitutional Statesman and scholar of political constitution making within a parliamentary federation of provinces.

Adherence to the newly formed constitution by an appointed UN head of State. With a 10 year cycle, and with full review, with two mandated appointments of 5 years each. In the meantime, an enforceable strict agreement from its neighboring countries, to not interfere in any way with Iraq's decade of internal growth and development. A similar compliance from the countries in the surrounding regions. Penalties for such violation would be internationally severe.

A United Nations Military Force, composed for the sake of enforcing the law, training, developing, an adequate Iraqi Police Force, representative of each province, and a national Police Force reporting to, and appointed by the Parliament. For the first 10 year period of adjustment, these forces would work in concert, with the United Nations Peace Keeping Forces, receiving their training inside and outside of Iraq, some officers, would even be sent to places like Darfur, as part of their training.

The US Military, must withdraw completely, leaving only American troops, who are assigned duties to the United Nations Military and Peace Keeping Force. This draw down of troops, must be visibly apparent to all concerned.

An apology by President George W. Bush, to the United Nations for not allowing the UN inspectors to have time enough to complete their reports on Weapons of Mass Destruction.

This will bring about a healing phase, and the international community would be asked therefore, to come to the aid of a distressed Iraq.

What is presently taking place, with a complete breakdown of all aspects of rule in Iraq, begs for an alternative approach, and another way out, for both the United States and Iraq.

Randy,

One problem - the UN is scared shitless of anything that looks like a real conflict.

The UN had a mission in Iraq, remember?

It folded like a cheap suit at the first sign of trouble.

Giving medicine to hapless primatives is more the UN's speed - and God love 'em for it.
