Another Thompson Shake-Up: Communications Director Pushed Out

Politico:

Fred Thompson's communications director Linda Rozett has been let go, a sign of new campaign manager Bill Lacy exerting his authority and yet another indication of the uncertainty within the still-undeclared Thompson campaign.

Rozett, a former television journalist and top official at the Chamber of Commerce, was to oversee the organization's communications strategy, but Lacy indicated in an email to his staff this morning that he needed somebody with more political experience.

"[I]n the limited amount of time we have I feel it critical to have a communications point person with significant campaign experience," Lacy wrote.

As someone who had to actually have Santorum as a Rep I think this would hurt any candidate to get advice from an Ex-santorum.
We here in PA had a definition of Santorum as " The smelly discharge that comes out after anal sex.

If there was any doubt that Fred and the power elite behind him are the scum of the earth, it's all gone now. Hiring one of Santorum's minions confirms what I suspected--this is a juggernaut of Republican oligarchs who can't stomach their standard bearer not being someone like EX-Senators Santorum and George Allen. Fred's flock are nothing but reactionary swine.

Don't bother. Fred is "dead meat" as far as the presidency is concerned. Too old, too lazy, too gulible. He had better keep his day job, easy money. He is not too good at it, but hey, the money is good. Once his little wife shows up on the campaign trail it will be over. People do not like trophy wives in politics.

Thompson seems as electable as Cheney. I suspect his is a decoy candidacy. He'll bob around as a target for the dems and the dem bloggers who wont resist taking shots at him. At the last minute look for him to vanish back into obscurity.
