Edwards Says He Has "List Of People He'd Consider For Vice President"

Washington Wire:

Speaking to a few hundred residents Saturday night in a steamy high-school cafeteria here, former North Carolina senator John Edwards said he's already put some thought into who he'd pick for vice president.

Edwards told the crowd he has made a list of people who he'd consider for vice president and a separate list of people he'd mull over for his cabinet.

Let's use this headline as a way to consider
one of the many reasons why Edwards would be a disaster of candidate for the Democrats.

A key consideration in picking a VP candidate (there are lots of people who are ostensibly "qualified")is that the VP candidate should help you win in the general election.

So how did Edwards do as VP candidate?

1. Edwards didn't run for reelection to Senate because he knew he couldn't win. A tip off that Kerry missed.

2. Did Edwards help Kerry win NC or any state? No.

3. In fact, Edwards couldn't even help Kerry win his Edwards own home precinct. What kind of candidate can't even win his own neighborhood?

4. Edwards failure to electorally help Kerry should disqualify him. That he talks about a Southern strategy in the general election or about a national campaign shows how political inept he is. Talking about a VP when you can't even win your own neighborhood is well like talking about poverty and getting a $400 haircut; or talking about New Orleans when your making money of speculations and foreclosures in New Orleans.

Do Democrats want to win or what.

Viscerally, I just don't see Edwards as a likable candidate. (Nor is H. Clinton, which is why she can't win a general election either.)

I've never voted for a Republican in my life and I can't see it ever happening.
I'll enthusiastically vote for
Richardson, Dodd, Obama and Kucinich.
I'd hold my nose and vote for Biden (whose a total dope.)

But I will not vote for either Edwards or H. Clinton because my cr@p detector goes off for both of them. I am not alone.

I'd rather write in Ralph Nader, Jerry Brown Richardson, Dodd, Obama and/or Kucinich.
I've survived Nixon (the crook), Ford (a dope - Biden would be Ford), Reagan (a real dope) and Bush, Jr. (another dimwit).

Rather than talking about VP, Edwards or the other Democratic candidates should be telling us what States they can win in a general election that add up to 271!

John Edwards *Gets it*!

It would be wise to put forward a Presidential Cabinet prior to the general election, so the American People could view the administration, and under the circumstances at such a grave time, the new administration could hit the White House grounds running.
