Roll Call reports:

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men's public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.

Craig's arrest occurred just after noon on June 11 at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. On Aug. 8, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in the Hennepin County District Court. He paid more than $500 in fines and fees, and a 10-day jail sentence was stayed. He also was given one year of probation with the court that began on Aug. 8.

A spokesman for Craig described the incident as a "he said/he said misunderstanding," and said the office would release a fuller statement later Monday afternoon.

After he was arrested, Craig, who is married, was taken to the Airport Police Operations Center to be interviewed about the lewd conduct incident, according to the police report. At one point during the interview, Craig handed the plainclothes sergeant who arrested him a business card that identified him as a U.S. Senator and said, "What do you think about that?" the report states. [...]

According to the incident report, Sgt. Dave Karsnia was working as a plainclothes officer on June 11 investigating civilian complaints regarding sexual activity in the men's public restroom in which Craig was arrested.

Airport police previously had made numerous arrests in the men's restroom of the Northstar Crossing in the Lindbergh Terminal in connection with sexual activity.

As always the party of "family values" and gay bashing are the first in line for phallic worship. We are truly a nation of hypocrites.

Bringing home the pork means special funding for specific purposes.

Bring home the pork doesn't mean bringing home your pork and displaying it.

Show me a GOPer who isn't a pervert and I'll show you a closet Democrat.

I learned about hubris when I was in school studying Greek tragedies. I have to say that the Republicans are playing right into Aristotle's definition: "As for the pleasure in hubris, its cause is this: men think that by ill-treating others they make their own superiority the greater."

Once hubris has been detected, nemesis is on its way, which is what dear old poof Craig is now suffering.

Larry is holding back. Rather like Osama.

Why should Osama go on offensive when things are going so well for him in Iraq?

Why would Larry publish now when the Repiglicans are doing so well at self-destructing?

My psychology professor taught us "the supression of any powerful urge is like squeezing a balloon . . . something has to pop out at the other end . . . "

This is yet one more example of Dr. Paterson's theory proving true. This guy uses his position to limit civil rights of gays while crusing bathrooms to express his repressed sexually. How sad that one would have to choose such a method to be fulfilled.

I've ALWAYS been suspicious of any "heterosexual" who spends time wondering about what others of his/her gender are doing with their genitalia. Me? I'd rather spend time thinking about the opposite sex!

Is there a lesson here?
Openly gay liberals have the luxery of practicing safe sex with responsible partners while closeted gay conseratives practice their fetishes in back alleys and public restrooms spreading their delights to whoever is desperate enough for a $20.
Sadly typical of conservative hypocrisy.

The next time I fly I guess I'll wait until I get home to take a leak. Apparently the airport restrooms are full of republican sex criminals.

From Firedoglake:

Can we please as a culture agree to stop pretending that Republicans aren’t a bunch of effete pussies? Bill Frist? Hello? He makes Ru Paul look like Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Why won’t anybody call these guys out? Ralph Reed? Lindsay Graham? Even the ones like little Ricky Santorum whose wife spits out babies like a lawn sprinkler have that certain oily, southern-preachery prissiness about them, up to and including President Poppinjay himself. You’ve seen what he’s like when he’s mad. He stamps his little feet and starts talking all snippy and bitchy. I’ve seen ten year old girls who were more intimidating when piqued.

None of them have ever worn the uniform of this country. Their idea of “sport” is to get blind on whiskey sours and go shoot at a bunch of farm-raised birds on private land, but with a full Level One trauma team standing by, of course.

How many more of them will have to get arrested soliciting sex in public toilets before people finally cop to the fact that Republicans are a bunch of nasty old wealthy queens who cheat on their wives with other men and who can’t under any circumstances be trusted around teenage boys?

I know, I know.

Tick…tick…tick…

You can add to the list the new "Interim" Attorney General.

He was interviewed on CSpan a while back and came across as somewhat swishy.

He's just the sort they would like to install as AG.

They figure they can "control" him if he begins to step out of line, by threatening to expose him.

That's what Nixon had in mind when he wanted to nominate Carswell to the Supreme Court.
