Quit a few comments in this blog are completely missing the signifigance of what Khalilzad is saying. All seem to forget that this man is a mouthpiece of the psychopathic US administration.

First, there is little to compare here except the scope of the conflict and fundimentalist brutality vis a vis the brutality with which the Wehrmacht treated civilians and the allies in turn treated the German civilian population. London, Leningrad, Dresden, Nagasaki and Hiroshima were collectively more terrorizing than anything that islamist fanatics will be able to visit upon the world.

And most of insergents during WW II were idologically driven but secularists; they were Communists. This guy Khalilzad is also helping the softening up for Iran.
