"I Am Not Gay, I Never Have Been Gay"

Sen. Larry Craig said that he "overreacted and made a poor decision" in pleading guilty to disorderly conduct after his June arrest following an incident in a Minneapolis airport bathroom.

In his first public statement on the arrest, the Idaho Republican said he did nothing 'inappropriate' and also said, "I am not gay."

Conservative Christians need to wake up to the fact that their preoccupation with other people's sex lives is perverted.
The whole idea that some so-called Christians seem to dwell on homosexuality to the point of persecuting homosexuals makes it not surprising in the least that many of them turn out to be gay themselves.

It's long been an axiom that gay bashers are self hating gays. They attack in others what they hate about themselves. The Religious Right leadership is crawling with these people. Look at Gary Bauer for instance. He's a dedicated gay basher and if you drew a picture of what straight people think a gay man looks like - you wouldn't have a picture of Rock Hudson, you'd have a picture of Gary Bauer. That doesn't mean he is gay, just that he's afraid people will think he is. This kind of twisted psychology is all over the Religious Right.

I've read the police report on SmokingGun.com, and I'm a bit confused. Even if true, the report describes bizarre behavior by Sen. Craig, but there's no direct solicitation for sex nor obscene act. He tapped his feet and reached his hand under the cop's stall. Why did he plead guilty to anything? Help me out, please!

Let me say again, at the risk of repeating myself, no man on earth would plead guilty to this kind of charge is he were innocent. Something about this makes you queasy. The smell of crap and urine I guess. A guilty man might certainly plead innocent, but an innocent man would not plead guilty. Craig had a kind of breakdown and gave it up. He needs help and if he'd stop lying he might get it.

The police had rec'd several complaints of sex acts and sexual overtures being made in the bathrooms at the airport men's room. The police began a surveillance operation and confirmed the activity. Sqt. Karsinas went undercover and stationed himself in the stalls and Craig was one of 19 men arrested at the site over a three week period.
