Mystery Moneyman Behind Allawi's U.S. Lobbying Campaign To Run Iraq

Iraq Slogger:

Iraqi opposition leader Ayad Allawi's newly-hired Washington lobbying firm will likely be in violation of U.S. law unless it discloses the identity of the anonymous Iraqi supporter who is underwriting Allawi's U.S. lobbying campaign, legal analysts say.

As IraqSlogger first reported, $300,000 is being paid to the powerful lobbying firm of Barbour Griffith & Rogers (BGR) -- a firm with close ties to the Bush administration -- to help Allawi promote himself and his agenda, a centerpiece of which is the ouster Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki.

But a key question is who is paying BGR for Allawi's lobbying efforts?

Of course FARA doesn't apply to the pro-Isreal lobby as it should.
Iraq is a bad end waiting to happen. How many more American lives will be thrown away on this mess?
Why did we not fight against the Taliban and Bin Laden ? I guess because Bush and his supporters are idiots ....only a moron could think that Iraq has something to do with 9-11; or a watcher of Fox news, O'really? or LimpBOG.

My money is on Chalabi (with Cheney's backing) He was one of the ones pushing for the invasion of Iraq. Cheney wanted him in the government. He is as crooked as our administration, so naturally the all admire him. Never mind what the Iraqui people want, they are as insignificant as taxpayers in this country. Just read that Rove is in NOLA with Georgie. Did his family move there, or is that Jeff Gannon's home base? Why are we still paying his expenses?

Corruption, Inc. indeed, in everything it touches. BGR was at the core of a successful coordinated political effort that went all the way to the WH to reverse the federal acknowledgment of one of the country's oldest American Indian tribe. See:
http://indiancountry.com/content.cfm?id=1096414946 and http://indiancountry.com/content.cfm?id=1096414950
Undoing a small Indian tribe from its rightful sovereignty as a federally acknowledged tribal nation is, I suppose, chump change compared to undoing the (puppet) president of what was once a sovereign nation in favor of another (puppet) president, but the underlying principle is the same -- greed and power.
