GOP Insider: Blame Rove For Presidential Primary Calendar Chaos

CQPolitics.com:

Karl Rove has taken plenty of flak from Democrats and some Republicans for actions he took as the top political adviser to his longtime client and friend, President George W. Bush. But an action Rove took even before Bush entered the White House played a key role in allowing the scheduling of the states' presidential nominating events to descend into chaos -- contends a longtime Wyoming Republican operative who led a months-long effort to rein in the already-accelerating "front-loading" of the primary calendar, only to see it scuttled at the 2000 GOP national convention in Philadelphia.

Tom Sansonetti, a former Wyoming Republican Party chairman, led the last comprehensive effort in either major national party to bring order to the nominating process. The Republican National Committee (RNC) task force that he led produced what was called the Delaware Plan, which would have divvied states up into four groups that would hold nominating contests spread out from March through June.

Funny how we never had this election chaos before the Republicans came into all their power..... We want our elections back. We want to be able to rely reasonably on their results again. Stop messing about with the process before America becomes a joke.

Funny how the election logistics haven't changed but the libs, now that the White House has been and is out of reach, want everything changed.

TOMORROW... 8/31/07... MAYBE, JUST MAYBE

I will not have to see Ms Piggy EVER again in my life... I hope he gets out of life all that he deserves...
11:54 AM on 08/30/2007
So you really believe he has resigned?
02:33 PM on 08/30/2007
I hope not. Carville was entertaining, the way he drove conservatives crazy, but he has nothing on Rove. Karl is worth having just for the moonbat stroke factor (meant three ways).
01:17 PM on 08/30/2007
Prepare yourself to see him again somewhere in the political world. He won't drift into oblivion, some Republican candidates will hire him and the media will keep track of him.

Rove's decorated car has the makings of a Visa "priceless" commercial.

The president is fond of saying that the world changed on 9/11. The truth is, the world has changed in a number of ways, for a number of reasons and it will continue to do so. Our standing in the world has changed too.

If America is to be prepared for this new century, we had better do a serious review of what works and what does not. Rather than dividing into small, selfish groups, we need to restore our commonality of purpose and work together to improve our situation.

The world will continue to change. We can lead, follow or be passed by. We can waste time playing abuse tennis or we can get busy measuring, analyzing and repairing.

I guess you haven't noticed; the U.S. is leading. The ME hate cauldron has been bubbling over for some time, finally someone with the courage and integrity to try and put a lid on it.

TO INVSTIGATE...HE INSTEAD INVESTIGATED THE PEOPLE BRINING THE CHARGES AGAINST ROVE (APPARENTLY HE APPROVED OF THE DECEPTIONS AND LACK OF CHARACTER AND ETHICS THAT ROVE SHOWED AND USED). ENTER JR. BU$HIT AND IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. IF YOU DON'T THINK THERE IS MORE THAN A EMOTIONAL CONNECTION BETWEEN ROVE AND BU$HIE JR. YOU AIN'T THINKIN'!

Ideas die here. Intent dies here. Or maybe I fail to grasp what kind of opportunity Huffigton post represented.
08:29 AM on 08/30/2007
So now it's ROVE's fault the Dems Primary season is in utter disarray? PUULEASE!

Looks like the RNC will have to do what the DNC has already done - put it's political foot down.

Glad to see it was the Dems stepping on their own dorks first, though.

How can the Republican party be considered anything other that a criminal enterprise under the Rico act?
Criminal intent, central organization, conspiracy, felonious acts.
08:17 AM on 08/30/2007
Replace Republican with Jew and that sounds scarily familiar.
11:52 AM on 08/30/2007
It's not right to bring religion into it.

Don't you have a podium to wax?
12:41 PM on 08/30/2007
Yes, it would sound like a Republican attack of the kind you are used to making.

Turdblossom/Shithead seems to have no govenor.

As a computer developer I often tell people that, just because we can do something doesn't mean that it will provide value. Shithead seems to be screwing things up just because he can.

You Are the Lesson
Part Two

It took you six years to find out how corrupt and evil these bastards were. Now you cry out with indignation. Karl Rove is perhaps the worst "republican" you have ever had in your history. To think such an anti-democrat could even be allowed to walk the halls of the White House and Congress is a shame on your nation. And the doors that he has opened to fascism have done serious damage to the nation.

And yet what have you people done about it? Not a damn thing. The measure of Rove's success is the measure of your failure. It's your democracy, not his. But at this rate, you won't have very much left.

By the way, where is Rove right now? Do any of you even know? Do you think he is out there helping to strengthen your democracy? Do you think he is out there working to make the next election free and fair?

I have seen since I was a teenger that you were going to lose your democracy to corporate fascism. I have watched your ignorance of your own nation grow year after year. You devour plenty of marketing, but can't seem to digest much history.

Well, guess what, America? The game is running out. You have failed to learn the lessons of history. And now ... you have become the lesson.

Good-bye, America. We are adding you to the dustbin of history. And like Athens, it just takes a few greedy and disgusting men to destroy it all.

Ashamed to be an American

You Are the Lesson
Part One

It doesn't just take Rove to destroy two centuries of democratic construction. It takes many morons, and we have that for sure.

There are the morons on the right, who want to "benefit" from the corruption and destruction of this system. These people cannot and do not want to see beyond their bellies and their bank accounts. They believe, along with Rove, that this system only exists for their benefit. The war in Iraq only benefits Haliburton and the other contractors. New Orleans, health care, and things like that only "rob from the rich".

The morons on the left believe that America is invincible, and that republicans are really nice guys with the best interest of all at heart. They forget that Tories were willing to sell the nation back down the river in 1812, and so a second war of liberation had to be fought. They believed in the 1980's when the trickle down economics won the day, while beginning the undermining of all those great social programs. And they still believe today that "honor and honesty" will set everything right while their freedoms erode right before their eyes.

And then there are the millions and millions of morons in the middle, like me, who have given up. I am furious that this nation has allowed itself to slide so far toward debacle. But then, seeing Katrina, seeing all the dead in Iraq, recalling all those slaughtered in Southeast Asia, I ask myself, why save America? So they can go out and murder millions more?

Your food is rotten; your art is rotten; your society is rotten; your news is lies; your children are stupid; your cities stink; your services are terrible; your schools produce morons; you drink too much; you watch too much moron-television; you don't even know what you are losing. And you think yourselves superior to everyone else in the world. You preach democracy and liberation to people as you slaughter them. Then you wonder why they hate you.

GREED

Republicans lined their pockets with war profits.

Dems, scared shitless, about losing their welll paying jobs, stood still and did nothing to stop Rove and the others.

Different degrees of greed but THE GUILT COVERS BOTH PARTIES.

Isn't it always about the money?
