In two separate segments yesterday, Fox News attacked CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric for reporting from the ground in Iraq, calling it "a desperate move" and asking if it was a "ratings ploy or legitimate journalism."

On Your World With Neil Cavuto, guest host Dagen McDowell featured Janice Crouse of Concerned Women for America, who characterized Couric's trip as "a clear act of desperation" by a single mother whose "priorities [are] so determined by her ambition rather than her children's welfare." Crouse pointedly accused Couric of being a bad mother for going to cover Iraq.

Katie Couric is to journalism as Hillary Clinton is to politics. No matter what they do the media will try to put it in the worst light. The truth is the media does not speak for everyone. These are two women who have had long careers in their fields and frankly I am sick of seeing them criticized for being women in a male dominated jobs. I think the women are jealous and the men can't stand it because they can't be in their place.

What about single parent soldiers Fox has encouraged to go to Iraq? I used to check out the Fox News website just to see what the blowholes were up to...I don't even give them that, anymore.
If we all stop giving them attention then the only audience Fix will have will be the "25 percenters"; every time we show outrage over one of their insipid remarks we're acting as an advertising shill for them. I know some of their audience; they're simple, scared people...we aren't going to draw any of their viewers to the light. Let them go...let them float off into complete insignificance.

Yes!

We have to take the few truthful goodies we can get

from any of these networks. Fox has NEVER qualified.

16,000 single mothers and 9,000 single fathers now serve in the military.

MOST of them in Iraq.

No, Look it up. I did, so can you. I gotta life.

Does anyone think that any or all of the men in the War Zone who are reporting, are not fathers? How come a mother is singled out for doing her job. Our fighting men and women are parents also. Maybe they shouldn't be there either.

Shame on Couric for setting a bad example, just like Murphy Brown did back in the '90s. Kudos to Fox News for playing the Dan Quayle role in bringing this atrocity to our attention. They should make that their new tagline: Fox News - the Dan Quayle of news sources.

Fox hasn't considered what the mothers of our soldiers

think about Couric't trip to Iraq.

If Katie tells the world any kernels of truth, instead of

the BushCo and Freedom Watch lies heard in the USA,

they will be most thankful to Couric and CBS and become

faithful viewers of this networks news show.

You mean the same network that fired Dan Rather for doing a report on Bush being AWOL.

Fox's slam at Couric of being a "bad mother" for doing

her job is typical trash from them.

But where was the Fox Network's "outrage" at Laura Bush for her

booze drinking daughters bad behavior at bars

and in public. Falling down drunk is a "good" thing

learned from a "good" mom?

Or are the photos of Jenna's bush at a public beach as

she changed clothes in front of all considered "good"

behavior learned from a "good" mom?

THE FOX FAUX NETWORK SHOULD THINK AGAIN BEFORE MAKING SUCH CHARGES.

Remember mom Laura's daughters photos are still

on the net and who knows where else? Billo?

This country needs to decide how its going to be. We can't have it both ways.

We send U.S. military women personnel to Iraq who are mothers. Many men who have been deployed are fathers. Being a mother doesn't supercede, apparently, duties associated with the job.

Men who are in the business of reporting the news, anchors and a whole lot more, have gone to Iraq multiple times. That also seems to be a job requirement.

It would seem that KC going to Iraq is consistent with how this has been handled both by government and the private sector.

So why is FOX news making a big deal of it? If Couric is a bad mother then what does that make the U.S. government? The U.S. government has sent a lot of mothers to Iraq, who, if given a choice, would in all likelihood choose differently. That isn't much different from a lot of people, men and women, if given a choice.

This isn't about KC, and the dimwits at FOX haven't figured that out.

After all the years of pandering to the lowest common denominator on the Today show, Katie is finally doing something brave. I think that if she dies in this process, she will at least have shown her children that some things are worth more than money.

I give her credit for seeking redemption for her past in taking this assignment.

It is not at all surprising that the bully-run enterprise that calls itself Fox News is painting this as evil. The only things they can see are evil, because they are evil in their hearts. God forgive their everlasting souls. But first, please make them pay for the damage they have done and continue to do to the community of humanity.

Sick f'ks at the FOX probably will have one of their military ins give orders to frag her, just to justify their point.

But Iraq is just like Indiana in the summer! (Or is there something about Indiana they're not telling us?)

Why can't Fox News be sued for libel? I mean they're LOL, "news" is easy to refute. I wish they would get sued, they need to be held accountable for their reporting. Of course you have some dipshits fuming about Arianna going after Fox News, saying that we are making a big deal about it, dam straight. Tell the truth, or pay the consequences! Fox Viewers- Did you ever take journalism class? Where are the two sources to confirm Fox's stories? You are the trash in the landfill that is now America.

... No, mexamerican, THAT dubious 'honor' goes to Fauxs own O'Lielly - between making up newspapers that DON'T EXIST ("Paris Business Review" ringing any bells, hmmm?) and his pervy 'stylings' for interviewing women (see his leering, smirking 'interview' with Miss New Jersey for a prime example), O'Lielly's the 'Father O' Feces Flinging', hands down, no contest..! ;) ...
