I Like ItI Don’t Like It

CNN's Dana Bash reporting Friday morning from Boise, Idaho:

BASH: It looks more and more like the political writing is on the wall for the senator. In fact, we have a fresh indication just a few minutes ago, we got it, that the senator is likely to step down. CNN is told that the Republican National Committee, Kiran, was poised to take the extraordinary step of calling on Senator Craig to step down. But we are told party leaders decided to hold off because they got indications that the senator himself is going to announce that he is going to resign and we're told there were high level meetings on this that took place here in Idaho yesterday.

Now, as you can imagine, these are highly sensitive discussions and, for that reason, our sources are reluctant to give us very many details of these conversations, but we are told by well-placed sources here in Idaho and back in Washington that it is likely that we are going to see Senator Craig resigning perhaps as early as today.

you don't know much about civics do you?
Typical HuffPooper.
The Idaho governor appoints a replacement noodles.

Actually that was a question about an individual states procedure. Not all of the states grant the Governor the ability to do that. That's why the question was asked. Civics classes tend to focus on federal politics.

Even if the classes did a survey of every sates procedures the likelihood that a person could remember them all is rather slim. Many Americans cannot name every state in the Union let alone remember things about each state's constitution.

Poor Vogie.
Reduced to making sick jokes about bathroom sex and making fun of people who ask questions so they can be better informed.

What a sad and pathetic little man you reveal yourself to be.

repooplicans = kueens

what else you got for us in that tier 4, 2.2 vocabulary there, freedom fry?

please don't say, "the iraq" or "U.S. Americans" -- that's not original either.

Been having fun, HuffPosters?

And here I thought you'd be encouraging Sen. Craig to be exploring his sexuality, and not to practice the anonymous gay bathroom sex practices that were popularized (and defended) by the gay mafia (lobbyists).

At least Craig didn't attempt to sexually assault anyone, and wasn't accused of it, or of hosting a gay prostitution ring out of his home, and his Senate colleagues didn't rise to his defense, as they've done in every case in which a Democrat has been accused of those things. Or worse.

Democrat hypocrisy - there just isn't anything like it.

But what's really going to be special is when the (R) governor of Idaho appoints a real conservative to the Senate, to fill out Craig's term.

I think it's been the GOP who have been the most vocal in demanding his resignation. You really need to get with the program twinkle.

Thanks for reaffirming my point.

Show me any instance in which a liberal Democrat, after having been caught in a sex/rape scandal, was publicly urged by his colleagues to resign.

To the contrary, they have circled the wagons and claimed it was all a GOP witch hunt, or a GOP slime machine effort. Or when they applauded the offender, as in the Gerry Studds, Mel Reynolds and Barney Frank instances.

You never shrink from lying, do you?

Craig DID, in fact, commit a form of sexual assault, by soliciting a stranger for sex.

And I would encourage him to seek professional help, so that he can come to terms with his sexuality and live a healthier mental life as a result.
Self-loathing homosexuals---who seem to be disproportionally Republican---are a danger to themselves and others in a variety of ways.

BTW, your snide allusion to Rep. Barney Frank was both disingenuous and uncalled-for. Frank was never charged with or convicted of any crime, sexual or otherwise.
Telephone records proved conclusively that his so-called boyfriend lied when he claimed to have operated his call-boy ring out of Frank's apartment.
Frank was 100 per cent cooperative with the authorities in the investigation, and apologized, even though it was proved that he did nothing wrong.
His consittuents have re-elected him over and over---so they must be very happy with his performance.

Your hypocrisy stinks to high heaven---I can smell it from here.

Define "real conservative" please? Is it one that adds over 3 trillion to our debt like the ones you keep electing? Or growing government to it largest, most incompetent ever? Please fill me in because I'm pretty sure from the filthy scumbag morons you keep electing that you don't have the slightest idea of what a conservative is.

The Republicans have a Republican Governor in
Idaho, so he will appoint another Republican
to fill Craig's seat. There is no outrage or
demand for Republican David Vitter to resign,
because in Louisanna, the Governor is a Democrat, and she would of course, appoint a
Democrat. So there is no demand for Vitter
who visited whore houses to resign. So once
again, we see the self-appointed moralists
ignore Vitter's crimes because they don't
want a Democrat to replace that slimeball.
And once again, we see this has nothing to do
with outrage or morality, it has everything to
do with politics.

Exactly. He broke the law. Why is he still in office? To all of the trolls posting over and over again how when one of theirs does wrong he immediately steps down, what's up with Vitter?

For Republicans, it always comes down to what benefits the Party.

Republicans place party before country with disturbing regularity.

Hence the calls for Craig to resign, since he will be replaced by a Republican governor, but a free pass for Vitter, because he would be replaced by a Democratic governor.

And of course, there is the hypocrisy about the gender involved in each instance.

The Republican closet must be a very crowded place.
What is it about the Republican Party that makes it so terribly attractive to self-loathing closeted gay men?

No, Republican hypocrisy invites ridicule. This is their karma. It's a natural result and serves a valuable public purpose, namely, "Don't be hypocritical!"

I can't help feeling sorry for the poor despicable sap.

A pattern has emerged. If Democrats had any guts or sense, whenever a conservative goes on a rant against gay rights, they'd look suspiciously at the conservative and ask, are you gay too? Is that what the fear and hatred is all about? You hate yourself for having sex with other men?

Exactly. Can you imagine how much Craig
despises himself?
He has supported the party of love the sinner, hate the sin all these years, bathed himself in propaganda that he knew wasn't true.
And then being from Idaho of all places!

No one hates this guy more than he hates himself.
He's on "vacation" with his family.
They better keep an eye on him.

I was hoping he would stick around for a while constantly protesting any thought that he might be gay.

I guess it's sad in America even in this day and age when someone cannot say their sexual preference without paying a heavy price.

I wonder if it will be the same in a hundred years or will we have grown up by then?

I'm not putting a lot of faith in the people's ability to put hatred aside when it comes to politics.

Our Founding Fathers must be shaking their heads going, "THIS is what we sacrificed for, worked hard for and gave all for? So these bunch of bozos could use hatred to divide the country for purely political and financial purposes?"

If he gets convicted of a crime, yes he should.

So far, he has not even been charged with a crime.

It was my thought.

Actually, you never answered my question yesterday:

How is it "widely known"? Is there some kind of on-line tutorial that people go to learn these things?

I mean seriously, who says "Ok, we're going out trolling for sex partners in bathrooms tonight, so here's the code....tap your feet three times, wave your hand across the floor then do the hokey pokie, your mark will get the message"

Who thinks of shit like this?

Larry Craig (on the audio tape) said he "sat down and began going to the bathroom."

Yet the other day when this news first appeared, he said, "I have a wide stance."

Which was it? Was he standing or sitting? This guy was cruising for sex.
