Hillary Rodham Clinton has already had to forgo one potential running mate -- her husband.

Asked by talk-show host David Letterman if Bill Clinton could serve as her vice president should she be elected to the White House, the former first lady acknowledged that he could not.

"Believe me," she joked, "he looked into that."

She also remarked that if the Constitution didn't forbid a president from a third term, "he might be running."

I watched Hillary last night and thought she did extremely well.... and I don't think Letterman gives politicians [or anyone else for that matter] a free pass! She held her own with Dave's one liners and gave some of her own. Liked her Top 10 too!
She spoke of little girls and older women, who, for their own very different reasons, came to see and meet her! She joked about Bill and did so with class! She comes across as very human, very confidant, competent an down-to- earth and friendly!
America could do a whole lot worse than Hillary! It is upsetting to see how, in such a depressing, frightening and corrupt climate as there is in America these days, she gets more than her share of criticism!

I see that Bill Clinton has written a book called "Giving".

Allow me to extrapolate from the lessons I have gleaned from positive reviews of the book combined with Democrat theory in general.
¢ If you are only paying taxes, buying the occasional car or computer for poor relatives, and providing 100% of the support for your wife and 3 children, then you are a selfish person who needs to start giving.
¢ If enough people quit working and volunteered their time to help poor people, then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.
¢ If the minimum wage were 10 times higher (about $50/hr), then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.
¢ If everyone gives $100 to two others, and every time someone gives you $100, you give $100 to two others, then pretty soon, there would be no poor people.

Here is a clue Bill:
¢ When you spend other people"s money, you are not giving.
¢ When you spend money you collected by force (e.g. taxes), then you are not giving. You are taking from our children.
¢ When you increased government spending, you were not giving.
¢ When you took credit for the economy, you were taking.
¢ When you took credit for less crime, you were taking.
¢ If you indeed gave that woman your seed (inside her) without her permission, you were not giving. You were taking.
¢ When you took tax dollars as your salary, you were receiving.
¢ When you were getting blow jobs from interns, you were receiving, and by thus exposing yourself to foreign blackmail, you were taking (America"s security).
¢ When people gave you millions to pay your legal bills to protect you when a woman accused you of sexual harassment, you were receiving.
¢ When you pardoned 200 convicted felons, you were not giving to their victims, you were receiving (i.e. money for your library, for Hillary"s campaign, etc.).

Bill, maybe you should have written a book called "Receiving".

She is the least naturally funny person in the world. She forced all of those jokes out just as she forces every robotic, scripted thing out of her mouth. If there was ever a more disingenuous person running for president of all positions, I haven't seen them.

I think you missed the least naturally funny person. That would be George Bush.

How embarrasing to think somebody would say it is a big deal that the US could have a female president.

We need to learn from countries like Pakistan who have had female heads of state, that is really is not a big deal and it really is possible.

Don't we remember the Clinton era? We may have loved the policy, but hillary and bill were the biggest lightning rods in recent memory. Remember Whitewater? "Travelgate?" The Clintons so much as sneezed and GOP attack dogs were at their throats, even though none of their accusations and investigations ever turned up anything (except the sexual indescretions- hardly worth $50 million to investigate)

If Hillary is elected (unlikely, as the forces of darkness will converge upon her and even manufacture attacks against her and her family-- remember the fake tape from Gennifer Flowers? That was 15 years ago-- think about how much worse they'd be!) but if she were elected, she would never get one thing done. Health Care proposal? Over before you can say "fillibuster." Same with anything else.

I may love you, Hillary, but I can't afford you.

If Bill and Hillary were lightening rods why not ask the Republicans why? They had to dirty up Bill Clinton because he was such a successful president. So you can afford to love Hillary because I think the media fascination with Republicans and Bush is on the wain. To love Hillary might actually save us money on this war we don't want to pay for anymore.

She is the best available Neocon, so naturally she will be promoted by the Neomedia. Murdock loves her. "Our friend" loves her. What's not to love? What she will do to the rest of us old fashioned Americans.

And another thing...

I think the reason people might dislike her initially is because she doesn't know to look in the camera lens when she is talking.

Instead, she looked down - unless she was talking to Dave or the band.

I loved her - I can't understand how anyone can be so despicable to say nasty things about her.

The more I see her the more I like her. She is so human and real and it will be nice to laugh again.

Despicable???? Hmmm.. Maybe not the right phrase. More like "calculating, scheming, user, powerhungry, martyr...."

Bill Clinton, although a fair president and I admire some of his actions as president, was a womanizer. Hillary knew it all along but stayed with ol' Bubba cuz w/o him, she lacked the brassring to get where she is now. She stayed by her man because staying with him meant power. The right thing to do was to divorce him and make her own road. She chose the easy way...follow in Bubba's shoes.

I would love to see a woman as president but not Hillary. I have no respect for a woman who uses men.

Some women stand by their men, such as Mrs. Vitter and Mrs. Craig. Be fair--isn't it up to the woman?

She was wonderful!

She talked about the groups of little girls who were brought to meet her as she campaigned around the country.

She talked about the 90 year old women who remember when they were given the right to vote.

She said these are her reasons for wanting to do a good job as President.

I liked her on Letterman too. So different from the stiff misery who is President now.

Its not nostalgia -- it was only 7 years ago. But it does seem like a lifetime has passed. We are now mired in two lost wars, our economy is in the toilet and we have lost an American city. But ever mindful of the train wreck that is our Foreign Policy Bush says "If we don't get them over there--they will get us over here." How can you possibly remember when times were good and people were happy?
