The sheets of paper seemed to be everywhere the lawmakers went in the Green Zone, distributed to Iraqi officials, U.S. officials and uniformed military of no particular rank. So when Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.) asked a soldier last weekend just what he was holding, the congressman was taken aback to find out.

In the soldier's hand was a thumbnail biography, distributed before each of the congressmen's meetings in Baghdad, which let meeting participants such as that soldier know where each of the lawmakers stands on the war. "Moran on Iraq policy," read one section, going on to cite some the congressman's most incendiary statements, such as, "This has been the worst foreign policy fiasco in American history."

The bio of Rep. Ellen O. Tauscher (D-Calif.) -- "TAU (rhymes with 'now')-sher," the bio helpfully relates -- was no less pointed, even if she once supported the war and has taken heat from liberal Bay Area constituents who remain wary of her position. "Our forces are caught in the middle of an escalating sectarian conflict in Iraq, with no end in sight," the bio quotes.

"This is beyond parsing. This is being slimed in the Green Zone," Tauscher said of her bio.

Dictator's across the world maintain power by generating hatred towards the US to devert attention from the way they are raping their countries. Spreading the word to troops that the Dems hate them is a means of maintaining support from the troops as you extend tours of duty in a war they have no plan to win. They just want to run out the clock in an attempt to avoid accountability for their failed policies. In launching this war, more thought was given to maximizing GOP benefit in the '02 and '04 elections than was given to winning the war. Unfortunately the only battle where key members of this administration have experience is the battle for the ballot box.

It is not the military's job to "sell" a war, that is, to drum up support for a war. More generally, it is not their job to try to influence policymakers or voters for or against a war. When they engage in this kind of thing, my attitude turns in the direction of: END THIS WAR NOW -- TODAY.

Green eggs and slime..just what they all deserve for breakfast every morning..!

Imagine having to live with what you have said..and be judged by your words and deeds like the rest of us..?

Most of our troops would respect most those who stand by their words whether they agree or not..with the specifics..

It's called being a man..not a politician..!

Simple as that..

At least it's intimidation. At worst a possible cause for a horrible incident.

What if an unbalanced soldier with a gun was given this info and then went apeshit and executed some Democratic Senator?

Or two?

Your blind allegience is completely irrational. But I'm not surprised. This is exactly how Hitler operated.

So if someone went around and disributed a fact sheet of all of Bushco's lies about the whole debacle, that would be okay?

But it would never happen, Mission Accomplished.

You're right. This situation needs to be investigated. Is taxpayer money being used to produce biased propaganda? Let the GOP pay for it. Then let the Dems have their turn.

It would be very interesting to know who did this? The military, the White House, just who? And why??? That's the main question and why did they skew votes?

There should be a shorthand method to describe tactics like these. There is nothing - nothing - too low for the Bush administration.

It is Rovian or being Roved.
Lie, distort, cover up, mislead, falsify - but never, ever admit you are wrong, made a mistake or are sorry. It is the Rovian Way of all good Republicans and Bushies.

Is there any fair minded person who does not believe that Bush and his administration are the worst ever?

In Matthew 7: 15-20, Jesus Christ says: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

Chimpy's administration long ago seemingly hit bottom, but now they're digging with shocking fervor and desperation. There simply is no depth too low for them to attempt to reach.

From the article:

"""...When Moran asked him to turn it off, Rubaie protested with a laugh and said, "But this is my favorite television show," Moran recalled.

Porter confirmed the incident, although he tried to paint the scene in the best light, noting that at least they had electricity.

"I don't disagree it was an odd moment, but I did take a deep breath and say, 'Wait a minute, at least they are using the latest technology, and they are monitoring the world,' " Porter said. "But, yes, it was pretty annoying..."""

THIS is what they are dying for?

BRING THEM HOME NOW!!!!

What I found interesting is how the story points out that the Congressional delegations are only shown what the military and the Iraqis want them to see.

I'll bet not a one of them have demanded otherwise....
