WASHINGTON - Tony Snow, the highly visible White House press secretary, will leave his job on Sept. 14 and be replaced by his deputy, Dana Perino, an administration official said Friday.

Snowjob claims he is leaving because of money. He also stated that he took a loan to take this job. This job pays $165,000 a year. What kind of debt does he carry???? Too bad about his health, but I thought he was a smartass.

Good luck to Tony Snow. Whatever you think of the Bush Administration it was obvious that Snow did his job well. I hope it is financial reasons that caused him to leave and not more bad medical news.
He had a radio program before taking the Bush press secretary job. It was a conservative program to be sure but it was more even handed and less partisan than Limbaugh and Hannity. Hopefully he will have time to resume it.

Cracks me up that Tony doesnt make enough money to stay. Even HE has limits to the amount of shit he'll eat for too small a salary. I guess he thinks he can strike out as a free-agent and make much much more....
He ought to demonstrate to the American People just how well Bush's economy is going by taking a job as a Walmart greeter - If Walmart is such a benevolent employer, and the economy is so good, he shouldnt have ANY problems living on minimum wage.
This is sad. Elizabeth Edwards wants to keep fighting and it's obvious that Snow can't fight for this man anymore. I don't blame him.

The LAST person you can blame for the Bush fiasco is his Press Secretary. Of course, many huffposters are spewing vitriolic hatred that has nothing to do whatsoever with Snow, but with who-the-hell-knows.
Sorry, I disagree with you folks willing to give enablers like Mr. Snow a free ride. He enables his bosses to continue their activities which are causing great misery in the world. He is a willing, paid participant in those activities. He is not a flesh-bound microphone that is being used to broadcast lies. While other may disagree, he is not an automaton programmed to spout them. He is a human being, with free will, that chooses to communicate them, and is even more culpable, because as a skilled communicator and professional in the field of communication he helps craft the message, if not initially, then in its delivery and especially in the responses, disingenuous responses, non-responses and deflection of any actual investigative activities by reporters that his role encompasses.
He is NOT just a “Press Secretary”, he is a professional communicator and in light of his service, is a propagandist. I think HE might be offended at YOUR description of him which makes him sound like a talking head. That’s a moniker more applicable to the talking heads on MSM Television and the press who uncritically repeat his pronouncements.
So he certainly is NOT the LAST person that can be blamed. The last person who can be blamed is the member of the administration who publicly announced his/her resignation and stated that they were doing so because they disagreed with Bush's policies and stated which and why. And that would be . . . NONE of them.
