Bush In New Book: "I Can't Remember" Reaction To Dissolution Of Iraqi Army

New York Times:

When President Bush is asked what he plans to do when he leaves office, he often replies curtly: "I don't have that much time to think beyond my presidency" or "I'm going to sprint to the finish."

But in an interview with a book author in the Oval Office one day last December, he daydreamed about the next phase of his life, when his time will be his own.

The Idiot in Thief, wants to make a nearly broken military, that spends a fortune, and is complaining of being near financial collapse, to destroy and eliminate any last remaining missiles and military might it might have left, all for the purposes of propping up a failed President, and trying to make him a quasi hero, to give some form of electoral support to the Republican Party in '08. The man is as mad as the Mad Hatter, and would bring down the world, because of his ignorance.
We must get rid of him immediately through some form of Impeachment. Waiting for Impeachment, may be too late, and because of that, America, will be totally destroyed of its having any future, by its own hand. No one else, can be blamed but this delusional mad man in the White House, and the public, that has stayed silent.

Paybacks a bitch, and the United States will be paid back in full, should this moron attack Iran as outlined.
Try shopping in your favorite mall, knowing suicide bombers, will be crawling from out of the wood work, in every city in America. Not only that, the descent-ion of the American spirit, will be wide spread, with the horrors of ongoing costly wars across and around the world. No longer will the US feel it's safe due to its great distance away from the fray. It will reach the streets of America, but Bush will be long gone, and apparently, so will his memory, but memory of him and his insanity, will prevail forever, locked up in the time capsule known as history.

These revelations in and of themselves do not constitute grounds for impeachment, but as far as I'm concerned they demostrate the need to move forward on the grounds that do exist. The man is, owing to evil, stupidity, or both, a menace. He must be removed from office.

OWDC, I do not dispute that many impeachable offenses have occurred, but I saw nothing in this article that would convict Bush of anything but monumental stupidity. My instinct -- seriously -- is that he is mentally unfit to hold office, but we probably stand a better shot at impeachment than at invoking presidential disability. Why? The American public undertands stupidity first-hand and Bush would garner sympathy on this front. But I think most Americans still understand the difference between right and wrong. If Democrats in Congress could muster the courage to go on the offensive, I think the public would eventually support impeachment.

In all likelihood, though, we probably stand a better chance of this dunce choking on a pretzel than of being removed from office.

Crawford, Texas

A tragic flood this morning destroyed the personal library of President
Bush. The flood began in the presidential bathroom where both of the books
were kept. Reports confirmed that both books have been lost. A presidential
spokesman said the president was devastated, since he was almost finished
coloring the second one.

The White House tried to call FEMA, but there was no answer.

It is unfathomable that a man with so minute a facility for the obligations of his office has lasted not one, but 2 full terms. On the one hand, his decision to invade Iraq was the lonely act of a man who decided to lead. On the other hand he went along with the decision to disband the Iraqi army, contravening administration policy as he understood it. Wouldn't a leader have countermanded his subordinate's decision? Of course not. In Bush's mind decisions are final until proven untenable, and that includes the choice of personnel, which as of now is one of only two categories of mistakes that he admits to--the other being rhetoric like "wanted dead or alive." If he weren't so reluctant to admit personnel mistakes, he would have fired Paul Bremer in a timely fashion for making a strategic error in violation of policy.

Maybe he was too busy watching cartoons and text-messaging the Iraqui security minister about that week's plot-lines...

I was just watching Capitol Sunday (or maybe it was Inside Washington, both of which are "local" national news shows here in the greater DC area). Representative Jim Moran was a guest just back from a fact-finding trip to Iraq.

He recounted a story of a meeting that included, among other high-ranking Iraqi officials, the Security minister. This minister, DURING THE MEETING, HAD A TV TUNED ON TO A CARTOON SHOW... When asked by Rep. Moran if he could please turn it off since it was distracting, the minister apparently responded that IT WAS ONE OF HIS FAVORITE SHOWS...(truly in the mold of the Bush gov't.)

My first reaction was that if there was ever any doubt before,it is clear now that WE MUST JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE...NOW...because idiots like that just aren't worth it.

But then it occurred to me that WE are responsible for the current conditions there, including the Iraqi government idiots (those that haven't been assisinated already), and as such, what is our moral responsibility to the citizens of Iraq who would be stuck with them? (Of course, we DO have our own idiots right here to contend with.)

In the end, I have to trust the judgement of someone with extensive knowledge of foreign relations...with the guy that knows what he's talking about...who has no self-serving motives (other than being a citizen and wanting a competent government for his children/grandchildren)...who has actively served our country for over 30 years, and not just as a glorified intern observing the workings of government from the sidelines, but actually in the trenches...
