Craig Resigns: "I Am Deeply Sorry"

Idaho Sen. Larry Craig resigned Saturday over a men's room sex sting, bowing to pressure from fellow Republicans worried about a scandal dimming their election prospects.

"I apologize for what I have caused," Craig said.

Larry Craig voted to make tapping America's phones legal. In his last month in the Senate, Craig will work on making tapping toes legal. With a little help from his friends at the NRA, Sen. Craig will promote new legislation with this slogan:

"If toe tapping is outlawed only outlaws will tap their toes."

For those out there wondering why Larry “ I’m Not A Gay Bathroom Troll” Craig was forced out by the Republican Party and David “Diaper Me Up” Vitter was not forced to resign the answer is obvious and it has noting to do with Gay or Straight. It has to do with who was conforming to the “Real” Republican Value System, not the phony “Family Value System” I’ll explain: Craig went into Men’s rooms seeking “FREE” sex, in essence he was looking for a “Handout” from the Public without having to go on sex sites or into chat rooms or go to a bar buy someone a drink basically he didn’t want to “Work” for it. Vitter on the other hand had a wife who, in order to give him sex, probably want to get taken to dinner, have him by her a new dress, mow the lawn, take her or the kids to the doctor, who know what she demanded for the sexual service??? So Vitter being a staunch Republican simply weighted the difference between the cost of sex with his wife with the ultimate gain realized that he would get – excuse the phrase “More bang for the buck” if he Outsourced the job to a desperate prostitute who would be willing to take on any job no matter how degrading or small, for much less thus leaving him with a greater profit margin. So you see we can chalk up the Republican Partys utter Hypocrisy not by what party the offending members state Gov is or the sexual nature of the offence but by who much it might offend their business masters. Class Dismissed !

that he's gay and can't admit it?
that he railed against homosexuals, because that's what his party wanted?
that he got caught?
that he's humiliated?

that he rubber stamped the illegal and illegit actions of the Bush crime family?
that he's been profiting while our reublic dies?
that he'll no longer get to profit from his 'service' to the world bankers and military industrial complex?

The trouble with this entire incident is that the media fail to explore the larger story. Craig may indeed make his sexual reference heterosexual, but his orientation appears to allow him to accept sexual behavior from both men and women. Police stings like this around the country will show nearly half, maybe more, of the men cited for public sex in restrooms, parks and adult book stores or who pay male prostitutes are men who are married and who identify themselves as heterosexuals. That's a story that needs to be told in its entirety, rather than only when a situation like this occurs.

I listen to his little farewell speech. Larry isn't sorry for what he did, just that he got caught. As for the date of 9/30, just a few more big checks til he clears his desk out. I feel for his family, cuz this dude is not telling the truth. Sounds like he is so far in that closet, he cannot see daylight.

Stalin would have loved how the police operated and how Craig's colleagues then stabbed him in the back and tossed him over the side. It was typically dumb and Idahoan (my home state) for him to plead guilty on the spot so that the whole matter -he thought- would disappear. Larry isn't gay and that's not the issue anyway which is his stupid response to a KGB style set-up. If a U.S. Senator doesn't realize the implications of a guilty plea he's not paying attention to the basics.

While Craig was "acting out", a red state like IA, decided to declare DOMA unconstitutional. Big surprise, for DOMA has always been viewed as such by constitutional scholars, and by the gentrified American LGBT activists.

The reason that DOMA was let stand was the same reason that it took more than a half century to declare Plessy v Ferguson unconstitutional with Brown v Board.

Minorities in the USA have always been told to accept secondary rights because the alternative is no rights at all, or worse.

In this case, it is DOMA or it is the FDMA- take your pick. Oh....and instead of Massachusetts Marriage...we'll give you the "separate and 'equal'" civil union like we have been able to recreate Plessy-like legislation in VT, CT, NH, and NJ.

One couple, one couple was allowed to get equal justice under law in IA....in a four hour window before the forces of prejudice and bigotry and homophobia had their predictable outcome.

Yes, the American gay and lesbian community has no friends within the DLC and gentrified "activist" community. Blacks were ill-served by "Republican friends" who sold them down the river to the racist Dixiecrats.

Craig, McConnell, Dreier, and a few others are individuals whose hatred for the American gay is palpable and consistent. The rumours surrounding these men are merely "open secrets" --not unlike the fact that America is just waking up to the reality that heterosexually married homosexuals frequent bathrooms for sex because they have no other "safe venue" to me(ea)t each other and maintain their secret and incompatible lives.
