First Posted: 03/28/08 03:44 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:15 PM ET

Associated Press:

At least 1,809 civilians were killed in the month, compared to 1,760 in July, based on figures compiled by the AP from official Iraqi reports. That brings to 27,564 the number of Iraqi civilians killed since AP began collecting data on April 28, 2005.

The August total included 520 people killed in quadruple suicide bombings on Yazidi communities near the Syrian border. The horrific attacks made Aug. 14 the single deadliest day since the war began in March 2003.

1,800 killed in August.

Why the long faces? The SURGE (to MURDER as many MUSLIMS as is humanly possible)is working! So CHEER UP!

Onward Christian soldiers...Stay The Course!

I thought I'd pass along this WARNING I recently received from my "Assembly Of God" friend ...
to NOT vote for Barack Obama...
because of his MUSLIM roots...
because he used the KORAN to swear by...

"It is politically expedient to be a CHRISTIAN when seeking major public office in the United States. Obama, a MUSLIM, is planning on destroying the US from the inside out."

Hmmm...Pious paranoia, perhaps?

I'm beginning to think that Christians HATE & FEAR Muslims, almost as much as they HATE & FEAR Gays!

BTW...Come voting time, GENOCIDE GEORGE may have ALREADY accomplished Obama's "Muslim mission" of DESTROYING THE US FROM THE INSIDE OUT.

Political office-holders MUST be CHRISTIANS?...
HA, HA, HA...THAT'S RICH!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta

The vast majority of the casualties are Muslims killing other flavored Muslims - the Christians are not doing the killing.

"I''m beginning to think that Christians HATE & FEAR Muslims, almost as much as they HATE & FEAR Gays!"

Shoot. christians hate or fear every damn thing known to man. Fear/hate/FEAR/HATE.

Screw 'em. The sooner the better.

Really.

And we all know what muslims do to homosexuals. I'm missing the point of the story. Aren't the muslims killing each other? How is that G W's fault?

BTW, aren't the muslims more intolerant than christians?

Why oh why don't those Iraqis die in secret somewhere so Bush dosn't come across looking like a liar and the cause of all the suffering by his foreign policy.
09:40 PM on 09/01/2007
Wonder what a Lancet study of Sudan or Liberia would turn up ? I think the numbers would be off the charts. Why no outrage over Africa, why no outrage about what Castro has done to generations of Cubans ?
10:50 PM on 09/01/2007
"why no outrage about what Castro has done to
generations of Cubans...?"

You mean like FREE HEALTH CARE with the best
trained and educated doctors in the world?

Free education. Think about!
Republicans are killing it for U.S.citizens
wanting to move up through education!

Lots of Cubans risk there lives to get to the USA.

Funny, I don't recall hearing about anybody sneaking into Cuba to live there.

I know Michael Moore went there, but as soon as he was done trying to besmirch the USA, you can bet his fat ass was on it's way back here.

The Surge is working. So bitchin!

It's killing Iraq civilians at a near-record rate. The Surge is killing little children, old women and elderly men like flies. They rot, folks! How cool is that?

The Surge is helping various factions in Iraq to kill with complete abandon. Hot damn!

The Surge will eventually spread to the entire Middle East by empowering Islamic extremists almost everywhere! Whoopee!

The Surge! What a great idea by the Bush/Cheney swine herd? Go Surge!

Anyone else tired of this shit?
11:45 PM on 09/01/2007
The Surge is not killing Iraqis, Iraqis are killing Iraqis.

When we pull back to hardened positions inside Iraq - during Clinton 44's first term - the Iraqis will have a big blood bath, then when mostly only Sunni or Shia are left, Iraq will stabalize - around 2011 or 2012.

As an American I drop my head in shame for the atrocities we are committing against the Iraqis and we call ourselves a Christian country. We are as unchristian as a country can get unless we perceive Jesus as a capitalist and an imperialist.

May the Iraqis someday find it within them to forgive us for our atrocities against humanity all in the name of greed? Ie oil. I sincerely doubt that they will like the Vietnamese did.

Open this link to find out how they plan to beat us and throw out not only the usa but their puppet government.

Now that's a phrase we haven't heard about much recently, have we -

ETHNIC CLEANSING.

Here's something to think about:

--------------

Liberals, Bush Unite in Ethnic Cleansing of Iraq

By Chris Floyd

08/30/07 --- - From the New York Times:

The number of Iraqis fleeing their homes has soared since the American troop increase began in February, according to data from two humanitarian groups, accelerating the partition of the country into sectarian enclaves...The effect of this vast migration is to drain religiously mixed areas in the center of Iraq, sending Shiite refugees toward the overwhelmingly Shiite areas to the south and Sunnis toward majority Sunni regions to the west and north.

It is now obvious that one impetus behind the "surge" was to accelerate the "ethnic cleansing" of Iraq. Given the manifest failure to establish a strong central government to serve as a client state, the conquerors now find it easier to deal with separate ethnic enclaves, which can police themselves, shake out their own internal conflicts (however bloodily) and thus establish some kind of solid leadership that can cut deals and guarantee investments. Most of the measures taken during the "surge" seem aimed precisely at ethnic cleansing: the increased support of the Iraqi government security forces -- which are largely Shiite militias -- has been matched with what some see as the lunatic policy of arming Sunni militias.

The latter is indeed a lunatic policy -- if your aim is to establish security and political rapprochement in Iraq. And although the leaders of the United States are indeed a gang of depraved moral idiots, they are not lunatics. Even they could see the folly of such a course -- again, if the aim was actually security and political cohesion. Thus one can only conclude that this is not their aim, that their aim is indeed to exacerbate ethnic conflict, to foment more violence, in what amounts to a stealth operation of ethnic cleansing.

America's Military Strategy:

Arm everyone and then stand in the middle complaining about the fact you caught in a crossfire.

Brilliant!

What I find to be the big story is how this totally undercuts the surrender monkey's assertion of 650,000 people killed. 27,000 is a far cry from what the left is bruiting about. Why don't one of you "genius" huffers explain that for us illiterate trolls?

These are official Iraqi figures - based on data from morgues and such. Most rational people know that this is a small fraction of people killed.

The 650,000 figure came from a study published in the medical journal called Lancet. That study used a well-established statistical sampling and analysis methodology used universally to estimate deaths in major disasters and wars.

According toe the study published in Lancet, the lowest estimate is around 300,000 and highest around 900,000.

I am not a "genius huffer", but this is pretty trivial stuff that you can easily find and learn about.
08:36 PM on 09/01/2007
You certainly aren't a genius Huffer. The Lancet study was debunked almost as soon as it came out. You also don't address the tremendous discrepancy between 27,000 and 650,000. Even if 18,000 Iraqis dies every month the casuality figures would be under 100,000. It is always trivial when Huffers are put on the spot about the aid and comfort they give to our enemies.

*

We only have the US to thank for these fatalities: They have trained and armed the death squads for the Shia and Sunni as well as their own black ops CIA.

The Blacl ops only add to the US created civil war in Iraq and the real solution for the Iraqi people is to unite around throwing the coalition trools ( Read the US forces ) out of their country.

The alternative paths of shutting the money spigot and bring troops home which rest with our co-opted congress pale by comparison.

If China and Russia were smart they would make sure that the Iraqi [insert favorite appelation here ] would have equal or better fire power than the coalition forces.

You are so al Qaeda! Blame, blame, blame the U.S.

Arms are pouring in from Iran, Saudi Arabia, and al Qaeda. The Shiite and Sunni sects are to blame for the sectarian violence. That's why it is called "sectarian" because it is caused by sects.

You just want to blame the U.S. because the Iraqi sects have been unable to unite, establish strong leadership and govern the country.
06:09 PM on 09/01/2007
So tell us about the sectarian violence that was going on in Iraq BEFORE we invaded....I'd like ti hear this.

Yeah, bluesnot! But don't forget that it was the Iraqis who failed to stop US from invading them. It was all their fault.

I am always amazed when they blame robbers for bank robberies, and not the bank owners.

British army chief attacks US as 'intellectually bankrupt' over Iraq

Peter Richards
Saturday September 1, 2007
The Guardian

The former head of the British Army has attacked US postwar policy, calling it "intellectually bankrupt".
General Sir Mike Jackson, who headed the army during the war in Iraq, described as "nonsensical" the claim by the former US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld that US forces "don't do nation-building". He has also hit back at suggestions that British forces had failed in Basra.

Mr Rumsfeld was "one of the most responsible for the current situation in Iraq," Gen Jackson says in his autobiography, Soldier. He describes Washington's approach to fighting global terrorism as "inadequate" for relying on military power over diplomacy and nation-building.

What's 1800 more innocent deaths to the decider. Remember he sleeps well at night. That's all that really matters right??

As a candian I can honeestly say I've never despised a politician more than Bush. He is a sick madman who can send thousands of troops to their deaths and see tens of thousands of civilians die without a care in the world.

A draft dodger during Vietnam who was too busy drinking and getting stoned to serve his country but as Sean Penn said uses these brave troops like toy soldiers.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!! This sad sack of shit is destroying your military and throwing billions of tax payer dollars down the toilet in this fraudulent war not to mention ruining your good name around the world.

I ask all the few Bush supporters left out there if this war was so god damn important why the hell aern't most of your allies helping you out??

Answer: They don't want to see any of their soldiers die for Bush's WAR FOR OIL!

Cheers!
