Within hours, the letters to the editor started coming in. "Condoleezza Rice serves an administration that has trashed the basic values of academia: reason, science, expertise, and honesty. Stanford should not welcome her back," wrote Don Ornstein, identified by the newspaper as an emeritus professor of mathematics in a letter published May 31.

Online comments on the newspaper's Web site were even harsher, a veritable stream of vitriol. One of the milder posts came from Jon Wu, who did not give an affiliation: "Please go away, Rice. We don't want someone who is responsible for the slaughter of an entire nation teaching at our school."

These people live in a bubble. "Stain" on her legacy. Iraq is the greatest foreign policy disaster in American history. And Condoleezza Rice has her finger prints all over it. Combined with being asleep at her desk before 9/11, Condi should go down in history as a disaster herself.

Why does the press protect her?

Goddamned fucking cunt. This whole misadministration are totally craven, self-absorbed narcissistic psychopaths. She's worried about her 'legacy'? Bitch, your legacy is covered in filth and maggots. How she lives with herself, I have no idea.

I got a kick out of this from the article:

"As President Bush’s top diplomat, she has lowered tensions somewhat between America and its allies . . ."

So one of her claims to fame is that she allays tensions SOMEWHAT between the US and our ALLIES?! The countries that are supposed to LIKE us?!?

How fucking hard could this be? There are, what, only ten countries left that even act like they know us, aren't there? How hard does she have to work to keep Spain and Bulgaria happy?

Nice job, everyone in the White House. Beautifully done. And excellent work, Condi, at keeping our allies in our corner. Quite a stirring legacy!

I told a friend of mine today that when all these miserable douche bags (i.e., The Decider, Dick-fibrillator, Rove, Rice, Wolfowitz, Snow, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, et al.) buy the farm, I hope it is drawn out, extremely painful, and involves every one of them shitting themselves on numerous occasions.

Such justice would be poetry worthy of Shakespeare himself.

The war in Iraq wasn't her job. National Security was. And gee, let' see... only attack on the continental United States since 1812? Now THAT'S a stain to worry about!

Funny how the article's author and Condi's buddy, Helene Cooper at the New York Times, forgot to mention 9/11 in an article about Condi's legacy. so much for journalistic integrity.

What else is there to her legacy, and are there any good parts? I am thinking of the Lebanon fiasco when she sat on her hands for the longest time as next to the Iraq occupation itself.

A "stain on her legacy." Hmmmm. I'd say it's a bloodstain.

Bloody gd politicians -- always worrying about their legacies rather than all the blood they've spilled, the treasure they've misspent, and the mess they leave behind that we, the rabble, will have to clean up.

This country needs to take back it's heritage. VIOLENTLY or not.

Death.
That's what we need to see on TV.
The coffins.
The REAL suffering.
But no, not from Bush or Ms. Rice in her oatmeal designer shoes.
It's all a game.

America is known for her brave, courageous women!

You do a disservice to great names like Shirley Chisholm, Eleanor Roosevelt, Madeline Albricht, and Hillary Clinton!

You are the biggest disappointment in this administration. Alberto Gonzalez is next.

Hillary Clinton? what a laugh. Hillary's only accomplishment in life is marrying Bill Clinton.

Take her to the nearest alley, and stand her up against a wall... It's the only justice she deserves.

Vietnam vet and proud of it.

"Stain?!" Lady, you have just made a laughing stock out of yourself!

You are the sorriest woman I have ever seen?

You are a whimp and you are incompetent! Stick to playing the piano!

Where is your backbone? You mean that you were not part of the foreign policy decisions of this administration? If that was the case, why did you not resign?

Where is your integrety and honor!

On balance, did Rice, Bush, Cheney, Rummy achieve a single successful thing? Too bad this wasn't all just a Broadway Play - it would have closed in a week.>

They pointed out the bitter irony that an administration can be morally bankupt yet politically successful. That an administation can meet its political objectives while failing NEARLY EVERY GEOPOLITICAL GOAL.
