He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

Hey, how about the next time there's a hint of in-fighting in this WH, we suggest they all go down I-95 a little ways...I hear there's a property in Virginia that has a ring already set up, and the means to dispose of the losers... and that the guy who owns it won't be there for a while and probably wouldn't mind...

Finally, they have turned on each other, in true repub. style. Liberals know they have no problem eating their young, and, of course, each other. Good. It is about time they wake up at night and think about the millions of dead and maimed bodies they have created in the world, based on their filthy lies. I hope they rot in hell....All of them, for the death of innocent people and the destruction of our great country. What damage has been visited on the USA in the last seven years. It is truly astounding.

Yup, that is what we get with the first MBA president. He couldnt even manage a little oil well, or a baseball team, but republicans think he can manage America. He managed alright. He managed to get us into the biggest spiral straight to hell, that is what he has managed.

For anyone on this blog truly interested in taking a stand beyond firing totally useless barbs and insults at one another, do what I did this morning, and will continue to do until the US rights its course -- voice your concerns to ALL of your state's congressional reps. Send letters, emails, and call their offices regardless of their district.
What we have in the US is either apathy, or "analysis paralysis" -- but not nearly enough true activism on behalf of the American public.
While to some, it might sound naive or futile, I still believe that it is worth the time and effort to share my views and concerns with the political body that has the ability to bring our troops home, and to prevent Bush's planned attack on Iran. These are the folks who really need to hear your voices. And they need to hear it NOW, before it is too late.

Dear kardwell,

You are oh so right. Please, everybody who wants to see this war end, please, please write your senators and congresspersons, today and frequently hereafter, until we get out of Iraq, and don't forget to urge them to do what it takes to keep us out of Iran, where Cheney and his minions are itching to involve us. They (Cheney et al.) suffer from "invincible ignorance."

This whole book has to be spin.

"The management structure had collapsed by 2006"

They had a management structure? Really? When?

This is the sanitized, White House approved biography and therefore an attempt at perception management. It is safe to say that this the book is founded on spin, fantasy and outright lies.

(repost)
You may remember the scene on TV they showed at first from Romania. They had captured Ceausescu and his wife in their palace. At the very end, they were chasing them around a courtyard and wound up shooting them in an ambush of shouting and yelling.

(watch out for popups)

Cheeny would beg for his life. Laura would denounce Bushie. Bush would try to run and jump the fence. It would be that ugly. So, I favour Impeachment instead.

But if need be, before the idiot drops nukes on Iran, we would have to suck up and bite the bullet, I guess. Gee, I hope the military will get smart and understand what they are being led into doing. The end of the world.

Oh, but isn't that what the mutherfocking Dominionists want to have happen?

Justice first, I say.

Ugh.

Just a sec...

Someone switched the film? Sorry.

"In late December 1989, with the revolution spinning rapidly out of control, Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu fled Bucharest by helicopter, were soon captured, then held at a military base in northern Romania. Here a makeshift courtroom has been arranged for their speedy 'trial'. Charges against the Ceausescus are formally read by the military tribunal, condemning them to death. Nicolae blusters 'I do not recognize this.' Bangs fist. 'How can you condemn me?' Ordered to stand up Elena shouts, We are people. You can't treat us this way' The spokesman for the tribunal continues 'In the name of the law of the people we are declaring you are condemened to death. All your possessions will be collected and transmitted to the people according to the penal code. We are pronouncing this public sentence today Dec. 25, 1989.'"

Execution:

We cannot let them bomb Iran. Impeachment will save the Constitution, the Nation and the World. Justice first. Violence another time, not now.

Ugh.

Surely the news in this article is that a management structure that any of us would recognise as such existed at any point in the lifecycle of this administration.

I normally assume that "management" is a concept driven by rational logic that works through a meritocracy. This administration has operated as though it were a bastard child (a politically incorrect term, but one which I'm entitled to use) of a theocracy and a quasi-monarchy.

Real managers don't use a book of fables and fairy tales to decide on policy, strategy and tactics and they don't appoint people using nepotism and cronyism - the historical legacy of this administration is that it will be seen as the first Priesthood Presidency, where the only qualification for service was holding the same messianic views either politically, religiously or - preferably - both.

Any of you who don't know the history of Charles I (the origins of the English Civil War) should treat yourself to a swift Googling of the interweb - the parallels are chilling, although at least Charles I had considerably more dignity than Chimpy McFlightsuit.

Hyeah,

Chimpy would act more like Ceausescu:

The so-called "presidency" of GW Bush represented the best the GOP had to offer in terms of ecconomic and foriegn policy- and they failed misarably on both counts.
A fair and objective media would point out that GOP policy, foriegn and domestic, has utterly failed to accomplish anything for America by any objective standards.

'During a private dinner at the White House to discuss how to buoy Bush's presidency, seven advisers voted to dump Rumsfeld, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, incoming chief of staff Joshua B. Bolten, the outgoing chief, Andrew H. Card Jr., and Ed Gillespie, then an outside adviser and now White House counselor. Bush raised his hand along with three others who wanted Rumsfeld to stay...'

What a horrible management style, to both take a public poll, and to then vote in it himself (Bush).

1. No opportunity for discretion by the advisors.

2. How do you think the *majority* felt when Bush voted *against* them. Did they also fear some sort of retaliation?

It's time for Americans to borrow the guillotines from the French and storm the 'palace' .

BTW was anyone at Hufffiepo aware of the fact that the French, in 2000, convinced Saddam Hussein to accept payment in euros for Eyeracki oil?

Cheney no like.
