Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

"Six years from now, you're not going to see me hanging out in the lobby of the U.N."

No, you'll probably be upstairs in your parents house reading comic books, which is where you should have spent the last 6.5 years.

comic books.
aahhahahahahahaha.
very good Go Cheney.
(ew... there is two words you never want to use together... unless you are saying Go Cheney... right through that door in to your cell.

The U.N. will have Bush arrested for loitering, which is kind of what he did whenever he was there. It's not like he was the head of state and carried on an intelligent conversation with anybody...

At the end of the article, Bush is quoted as saying that, unlike Clinton, you won't find him in the lobby of the UN six years from now.

What a surprise! Why would anyone at the UN, six years from now, want to dumb down their conversation so as to be able to talk to Bush?

And what would they discuss? How to drink beer, snort cocaine, and dodge the draft?

To think that this is the one to whom neo-cons looked to hold their guiding light. Its enough to make one change parties.

Bush added, "Six years from now, you're not going to see me hanging out in the lobby of the U.N."

He got that one right. Six years from now he'll be in the Hague, inside a 6' X 8' cell, waiting for the date of his hanging.

gcallaghan: The Hague doesn't do death sentences. They lock you up and throw away the key. Good enough, IMHO.

Leaders around the world really like and admire Clinton. They stood to applaud him at their summit meeting immediately aftr he Lewinsky thing peaked.
I think it's safe to guess members of the UN view W as we do. He's right, he won't be hanging around the UN. They won't want him. And, I think they tend to include smart, or at least sober, leaders.

To think that this is the one to whom neo-cons looked to hold their guiding light.

I'm not sure if they were looking for him to guide them, or if they were looking for him to do what he was told and shut the fuck up. covertly of course, because the worst thing you can do to a Narcissist is let them know you can see them. They will never forgive you and will do everything in their power to act contrary to your wishes, even if it hurts them.

The story of the scorpion and the frog comes to mind.

And just what does "gassed" mean here? I thought he was a recovering alcoholic.

Funny, that's what I thought too when I read the article. If a person is "gassed" it usually means they've consumed too much alcohol.

Everything I've ever read about George W. is that he decided to quit. I haven't ever heard if he's gone to an AA meeting or had any other structure. He's pretty much a "dry" drunk which can be the worst kind to be around.

The accounts I read were not solely about alchohol. Cocaine was included. There's quite a different -pardon the word - evolution with cocaine. Addicts often develop cocaine psychosis.

Did you guys read this from the story??

"Draper writes that Bush was "gassed" after an 80-minute bike ride at his Crawford, Tex., ranch on the day before Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast and was largely silent during a subsequent video briefing from then-FEMA director Michael D. Brown and other top officials making preparations for the storm."

What a totally incompetent asshole.

You know, I can understand loving to ride a bike. It's probably the one connection I might have with this guy. But he's so incredibly selfish as a human being. Here he is, leader of the free world, and he can't stay focused on a disaster like Katrina? That ride must have been cutting off too much blood to his brain......

Bush knew Katrina was headed for New Orleans. Instead of staying inside and planning what to do to help the citizens there when the hurricane struck, that moron goes bicycle riding! He was probably on his bicycle in his bunker right after 9/11 too.

Yes, what does gassed mean?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:52 AM on 09/03/2007

Someone please correct me but gassed is an amusing way of saying that someone has had a tad too much to drink. I suspect Draper was probably referring to Bush's mental awareness at the time. I've been reading a fair number of reports about Bush falling off the wagon bit I wondered how true they were. I suppose it shouldn't come as any surprise since this man doesn't appear to posses much in the way of character and he seems to have no self respect for himself relying rather on his family name.

And remember that they made the DVD video briefing because bush seemed so completely disinterested in Katrina!

The thing that frightens me the most about this story is that I find myself agreeing with Karl Rove about something - that Cheney would not make a good VP.

Do NOT believe everything you read. What if this particular part was dictated by the turd blossom himself to try to resuscitate his soulless image?

Rove is slime. I look at anything that attempts to change that image as suspect BS spin. It is just more lies and propaganda, which this administration has proven to be very good at.

The turd blossom is still a turd.

Of course he was disinterested, Louisiana is a blue state. That's also the reason Mississippi, a red state got twice as much of the disaster money as LA.

"gassed" according to the American Heritage dictionary - adj. Slang - Drunk or intoxicated.

So this nitwit was intoxicated from an 80 minute bike ride the day before? What a weak mind; no wonder he insisted on Cheney; Karl knew Cheney would be boss - only reason he didn't want him, I suppose, unless actualy is smart enough to have known Iraq would be a disaster.

This is what happens when a Lo-o-ser tries to run the show.

George Bush: multi Lo-o-ser!

When will Americans learn that it's alright to elect someone who's not done this or that, but it's NOT alright to elect someone who's neither done this nor that. Big difference.
