Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

If Bush had more control, he wouldn't have become a hedonist bisexual, coke dealing drunk who cared more for frat boy jokes than going to classes and learning something.

"the White House management structure had collapsed,"

Well, that goes along with all the other FAILURES of the Bu$hCo Administration. And if Bu$h had had more control it would have collapsed sooner.

Robert Draper's new book indicates that by 2006 Karl Rove's fascist propaganda antics (even by White House standards) had to finally be reined in.

The article states:

'Rove, meanwhile, was not happy, Draper writes, with (Joshua) Bolten's (the new White House Chief of Staff) decision to strip him of his oversight of policy at the White House, directing his focus instead to politics and the coming midterm elections. Bolten noticed that other staffers were "intimidated" by Rove, and Rove was seen as doing too much, "freelancing, insinuating himself into the message world . . . parachuting into Capitol Hill whenever it suited him."'

Was there really a management structure? What we have seen all along is a passive, innatentive so-called visionary who blindly delegated key decisions (appointment of Bremer,de-Baathification, etc) to Cheney/Rumsfeld so he could go on more bike rides.

Sure there was a management structure. But the Chimp wasn't involved.

Much like Kentucky Fried Chicken's Colonel Sanders, Bush was just the face of the product.

General McCaffrey: Best known as almost singlehandedly losing the "drug war." What better spokesperson for a treatment center. Perhaps he has come around to the reality of drug treatment as key rather than interdiction and incarceration.

The un-regulated, un-registered and un-inspected fleet of Mexican owned and operated tractor-trailers will have reached every State in the Country by now. Starting Saturday, without fanfare or protests, Bush's plan to crush the Teamsters for his corporate masters' profits began in earnest with a swarm of scab truckers from Mexico.

This is absolute insanity.
How is this good for America?
There are too many fires to put out...
Too many alligators in the swamp...
Too many issues that divide...

Local law enforcement has no real jurisdiction over the NAFTA truckers from Mexico.

It is only one of so many fires, there are bigger ones to put out now.

You can't hope to extinguish the fires until you stop the guy with the matches!

Maybe General Pace can stop it, if Congress can't.

"President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has sought to justify his confidence the United States will not attack Iran, saying the proof comes from his mathematical skills as an engineer and faith in God, the press reported on Monday.
Ahmadinejad told academics in a speech that elements inside Iran were pressing for compromise in the nuclear standoff with the West over fears the United States could launch a military strike.

"In some discussions I told them 'I am an engineer and I am examining the issue. They do not dare wage war against us and I base this on a double proof'," he said in the speech on Sunday, reported by the reformist Etemad Melli and Kargozaran newspapers."

He could have just said that he has a satellite dish and watches American media and he concludes that Dems would never allow an attack no matter what the provocation by Iran.

He's is also using the fact that Iran has a very large, well-equipped, devoted standing army. Something we are lacking, at this point in time. Iran would not fold like Iraq did. Even Chimpy can't be that stupid.

I'm not too sure that "Dems would never allow an attack". Some Dems are just as depraved as the Republicans.

Regarding provocations, there have been none by Iran. All provocations have been from the fucking fascists occupying our White House- hell bent on attacking Iran to steal their oil for US corporations.

Ahmadinejad is seemingly an equally deluded religious nut as your Fuhrer.

One not members of Liberty University, I mean.

They are trying to sell a Calculus view of the war - if you pour enough money in and enough people die, you will continue to get half-way to victory. You can't ever get to it, but the sales job is that "it's just like victory."

Bush will continue to sell "Right direction" and "Getting closer" to the gullible. If asked what the finish line is, all he spouts is smoke.

Of course there's dissention in the White House. "Halfway there" tends to make the administrators as nervous as an Enron accountant as the destination remains illusive and the ledger looks increasingly "creative."
