Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

If Muslims supposedly "hated us" for having a military presence in Saudi Arabia, what must they think of us now?

"...Finally, the United States has developed close military links and, in some cases, basing facilities in a number of countries to the north and east of Iran, especially those close to the Caspian Basin oil fields or pipelines that bring such oil through to Black Sea or Mediterranean ports."

The proximity of the bases to the oil fields is merely coincidental. Rummy would be the first to tell us that, followed by rove, cheney, gonzo and every other serial liar occupying the WH.

As our military moves closer to Iran, the Caspian oil fields, just like the ones in Afghanistan, are being guarded by OUR SOLDIERS! This constitutes war for oil. Plain and simple. 9/11 was the pretext.

"Six years from now, you're not going to see me hanging out in the lobby of the U.N."
No - if there is such a thing as justice mr.Bush --you and all your co-accessories to genocide and destruction will be being tried at the Hague. We'll see some infighting then!
So yeah your're gonna need to get those "ol coffers filled"so you can pay your attorneys.
Seem like getting those "ol coffins" filled was your one and only accomplishment ---- oh that and improving your gluts

"Immediately to the west of Iran, the United States has close to 150,000 troops in Iraq and is building permanent military bases there. It has extensive deployments in Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar and has its Fifth Fleet that controls the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea and is overwhelmingly powerful in contrast with the small Iranian Navy. To the east, Iran sees the United States firmly ensconced in Afghanistan, with two permanent bases now established at Bagram near Kabul and at Kandahar (see Appendix 1).

Rev. Peter Laarman:
It's Labor Day: Why Am I Not Feeling Energized?

You boy's and girl's ever wonder what Jesus ment by - those who
are first shall be last - and those that are last shall be first?

When something is built like a top - and becomes too heavy at
the top - it will only spin till it fall's - and the bottom then
becomes the top.

Look at most of the south american countries - they were built
being top heavey - those at the bottom killed off - but they
always still failed - and there gov's been replaced how many time's?

Now look at how soon iraq failed being top heavy.

Thats why the framer's built a balanced Constitution - but as
weve seen it has been under attack the last 50 or so year's.

Now Mexico is doing the same thing - and the US is headed that way.

SO rejoice - soon it will be too top heavy - Then you can say mana
from heaven - The top come's tumbling down..

"violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

This very sentiment was obvious in the days just before 9/11. The Bush administration was so obviously defective immediately after taking office, their numbers in the polls were like cold air down a deep shaft. Then 9/11.

With the 6th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, let's remember that this bunch of assholes has not found the one person responsible for killing 3000 people on American soil. We're here on this site posting about their little internal wars, when they have us locked in a shitshow and we still don't have justice for 9/11.

Tomorrow, the Bush supporters will say it was Iran who did it. To them, "winning" is simply placing blame wherever Bush and Cheney tell them to.

A favorite saying of Isaac Asimov is "violence is the last refuge of the incompetent." It is clear that this administration is incompetent on all levels. It is time to end their fighting by impeaching all of them and holding them accountable for their destruction. By impeachment, we will send a message to those taking over that we will not stand for incompetence and corruption in our leadership. We must replace this administration with leaders who know full well what America means, and who love America enough to restore and preserve the American way of life which, to date, we have lost under Bush. We must start this process NOW!

"You'd expect complaints. I didn't hear one. And talking to three Jersey boys, I was surprised to hear just how positive they felt about the mission.

"I'd do it again in a heartbeat," Lance Cpl. Justin Blitzstein of West Milford told me. Self-assured and ready for anything, he added, "Anybody who doesn't think we should be here should see the difference we've made in the way these people live. And everybody here's a volunteer. We want to be here."

Lance Cpl. Jason Hetherington of Cape May County leapt in, "The progress from us being here [in the police precinct] less than six months is unbelievable. People who don't think we're making a difference should just see what we do."

If you "support" the troops, your heart must warm to hear how they support the mission.

Rube. Their "mission" was given to them by a moronic President based on lies and deceit. It has nothing to do with the troops' commitment and professionalism. Jeebus.

Keep flogging that shrill line.

You'll sound more and more irrational as things progress in Iraq.

Eventually, "the lunatic fringe" and "mainstream Democrats" will be synonymous.

They couldn't care less, Peace.

Soldiers who speak out against the war are heroic truth-tellers on HuffPost and Kos. Soldiers who speak out in favor of their work and mission and progress are just Chimpy dupes, sockpuppets in fatigues.

Sadly, that's the way it is.

The troops are doing what they are ordered to do by their superiors. They are doing it to the best of their abilities, and ALL thinking Americans are supportive of the fine people who volunteer for the military.

As usual, you conflate support for the troops with support for Bush's War For Re-election.

Thnose are two totally separate things---except to lying rightwing shills like you.

Post all the quotes you wnt---anecdotal stories do not prove that the surge is working in any way.

Nor do those quotes have any bearing on what will happen once the US leaves Iraq.

Most reliable sources predict a short-term sectarian bloodbath once the US withdraws---whether the US withdraws now or in five years.

How many more American lives are you willing to sacrifice to postpone the inevitable?

Bush isn't running again. Remember, he's going to go work for the AIPAC Halliburton Mossad Blackwater conglamorate upon his retirement.

When the next (R) president is sworn in on 1/20/09, you'll have something new to bitch about. But it won't be Bush.

Nothing will convince you that the surge is working. If a year of deaths from only natural causes passed, you'd still insist it was not working. If Al Qaeda officially announced its withdrawal from Iraq, you wouldn't believe the surge is working. You don't WANT to believe the surge is working and no amount of "proof" would change that.

"A fool convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."
