Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

Anyone know how WE win a war between the Sunnis and Shiites?

Anyone?

Hello?

Are you trying to tell me that our current strategy of chaos is not working? Who would have thought this would be the case? Shocking, absolutely shocking.

Furthermore, in that war, whose side are we on and why?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:21 AM on 09/03/2007

Why, Jane, I'm surprised at you.

You know that America is on the side of the winners---after all, Bush has assured us all that we are winning, and turning corners, and winning some more.

Look! I believe I see a corner up ahead!
I'm sure we'll turn that corner, too.

Bush said so, and we all know how truthful Bush is.

Isn't the freaky con response that we kill them all? More death=freakly con happiness.

White Iraqied With Infighting. We must fight them at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue so that we don't have to fight them on our streets.

They are probably fighting over who will have the most glorious resume and legacy.Since they aren't doing a damn thing for the people of the US all they can think about is how others will think of them later. Facts will speak for themselves as will the "tell all" books that will rain down on the world when they are out of office. Talk about an axis of evil...George, Condi, and Dick! Bah!

Bush made a surprise trip to Iraq but if word had leaked out about his going there, the trip would have been scrapped.

Why? Everything is swell over there.

I suspect Bush will have to sneak into the Repubican Convention next year, too.

Apart from surprise trips and heavily guarded summits, there seems to be no place in no country in the world where this guy can walk around safely. He can't even attend the Superbowl on his own territory.

The Brits obviously think so - they're getting the Hell outa Basra. They wouldn't leave if everything wasn't hunky dory - right?

AT first I thought maybe they were leaving because Basra was secured, so maybe it was good news, but this morning I heard that it is in fact a defeat, that sectarian militia groups have taken over Basra.

All this so one man could show up his father. What a disaster.

Cut the budget for "cops on the street" to pay for your tax cuts and crime goes up.

Cut the budget for the Consumer Protection Agency to pay for your tax cuts and we get killer toys.

Cut the budget for the FDA to pay for your tax cuts and we get killer spinach.

Cut the budget for the Air Traffic Controllers to pay for your tax cuts and we get near misses.

Oh, and then there's the debt left to future generation to pay for your tax cuts.

My bets on Cheney. He's already proved more than capable of shooting a friend in the face.

I doubt he has real friends.
Just people who are afraid of him, or people who are awed by his blatantly fascist personality.

It is always amazing to listen to the pollyanna trolls like noammoboob who will good down with the ship and drown before they admit the ship is sinking. The shark infested waters of the GOP hve accomplished their mission, eating their own is the norm because they can not discriminate wrong from evil. Bon appetite cannibals.

Ammoboob is lying thru his teeth. He knows it's been a disaster as well as the rest of us. It's his job as a troll to spin like a music box ballareena (sp?) and pretend to be optimistic. I don't know who the trolls think they're fooling at this stage.

Sort of like how they kept saying "We're winning in Iraq" for four years until they got a "thumpin'" and then it became "slow failure".

Dems are like the idiot who jumped off the 40 story building and thought "this ain't so bad" for 39 floors.

Your time to swap spit with the other antiwar losers and preach the conventional wisdom that Iraq was a "mistake" is almost up. When you reach ground zero, you'll realize that Americans still want to win in Iraq and they will not be kind to those who almost convinced them it was best to surrender.

Is it just me, or did the book try to make Rove look admirable by being anti-Cheney. It's my view that if he were so anti-Cheney, he would have been gone long ago. From here, Rove and Cheney appeared to be in neocon lockstep.

I don't think for a second that there was ever any dissension allowed in this White House administration. They've surgically removed anyone from a position of power who could get in their way. The CIA, NSA, all neocon flunkies. Stories like this are put out there to make it look like there's not a single dark agenda that needs to be defeated. Bush hasn't lost a single battle.

I dunno, wouldn't surprise me if Rove and Cheney fought the same way Himmler and Georing fought. Geobels too. Those people all hated each other and tried to outdo each other toadying to Der Fuerhur (sp?). Rove thinks he owns Dubya - but Cheney is the real POTUS. It could have made for friction.

And Chimp is now planning for ka-ching to replenish the ol' coffers. That's his sacrifice to us for his stellar public service...he hasn't made as much $$ while being President. He set up his oil and defense buddies, including Daddy, to make the big $$ and it's time for his payback. What a disgusting self-involved, whore. That's his legacy...looking for ka-ching.

Rove was shouted down?
Bush actually was capable of making a decision?
Choosing Cheney was a 'bad decision'?

This is a book of lies. We know different. Rove was the architect and Cheney is running the show. Bush is a total moron.

Evidence is all around us.

"The head of the poison prevention unit... resigned when efforts to require inexpensive child-resistant caps on hair care products that had burned toddlers were delayed so industry costs could be weighed against the potential benefit to children."

Gee, I wonder if a "cost-benefit" analysis was applied to the "Bin Laden Determined to Strike In US" memo.

This country needs and enema and the tube should be stuck right up the anus of the WH.

We need a cleansing and it should start sooner rather than later.

Democracy is defined as :
Form of government in which supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodic free elections.

Hence, campaign reform is needed because in order to kill all of the lying and money-making, we need for corporations not to be seen in the same light as people.

In fact corporations take precedent over people in this day and time, extremely exacerbated by the policies of this administration as CEO income and profit-taking has sky-rocketed while the average Americans income has declined.

We need some truth-telling and we need the media to do their job and report the news to the masses and not mold the news to the almighty corporations.

George W Bush, the stain with no brain. He is a poor manager of his administration, poor manager of this country and as all managers know, in order to have be a successful CEO you need to lead. He has divided this country, he has divided the world and I for one would think that the best way to show the world that we still have a moral compass is to impeach Bush and Cheney.

The world will see this and know that America is back and then there will be redemption for us as a nation for all will see true democracy in action, thanks to the American people, the beacon on the hill would be back and brighter than ever.

shhhhhhh

You can truly see how a dunce like Bush, whom wanted to be the first CEO president, what bad management can do to a company's, country's morale, moral and fiscal direction with bad decisions and lack of any "true" analysis as far as steps to take when it comes to competitors (other countries) for resources, and arrogance when it comes to building bridges with other CEOs, or prime ministers through dialogue i.e. diplomacy.

From Iraq and all of the lost $$$, lost weapons, and lost lives to Katrina, to scandals like the US attorneys, Valerie Plame, authorizing torture, the Medicare scam etc. etc..

I don't know how this guy graduated with a degree in anything. The infighting and the lack of control this guy Bush has over his White House means we were doomed from the "giddy-up".

The folks that still back this guy are nothing but autocratic, ideologues, whom are in denial because their faith in a cause trumps any fact.

This presidency will be a stain on our country for decades to come. I ponder to myself what winning in Iraq means. I ponder to myself that supporting the troops is what we are supposed to do, but the immorality of going to war in Iraq has some of torn between, wanting the US to win, but not wanting a preemptive war doctrine to be a US policy going forward, since you can basically declare war on anyone that tells us "no".

We tend to forget, we are a world citizen, we are not the world. Showing the world true democracy is not acting like Nazi Germany. Showing the world true democracy would be taking the lead in human rights, not torturing and diplomacy w/o the use of preemptive war.

We call ourselves a Christian nation, but our actions are not congruent wit what we call ourselves. "Blessed are the peacemakers" is a passage in the Bible. Since Bush did not make peace and chose to pursue a war of choice, this makes him anti-Christian.

continued....

It's called "legacy affirmative action". The more money daddy contributes to the school the more degrees you get.
