Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

Cheney contemplates mistakes made setting up Iraqi government.

Bush rides his bicycle.

Rove and Cheney out an undercover CIA operative.

Bush clueless.

FEMA Director gives video conference about NOLA disaster.

Bush takes a power-nap.

The 'facts on the ground' show Rumsfeld a disaster.

The 'decider' needs a show-of-hands.

Post-invasion policy determined by coffee with three exiles.

Yup, this guy was qualified to be President.

Should make for some interesting tell-all books once they're gone.

If this is so, let's see the whole operation implode...I will believe this when that happens. Let's just get these bastards out. 18 months is way too long to wait for them to go out on their own.

"Staff 'Constantly At War' With Each Other"

ANOTHER war these a-holes can't win.

If true about the in-fighting at the White House, it reflects what they create in the outer world. Quite the mirror. Couldn't be otherwise... We need to vote in someone who finds solutions in a completely different way... perhaps Dennis Kucinich?

As with HuffPo, dragging up old news instead of reporting significant news.

The DPRK has agreed to dismantle ALL of it's nuclear programs for agreed upon aid. Seems Pres Bush's 6 party talks have paid off 'Big Time'. In addition, DPRK concessions, once verified, will put a crunch on Iran's ambitions and may cause them to come clean also. So the 'attack' may not happen.

Ya can't make this Sh*t up!

Yeah, that DPRK had us going, those pranksters. Luckily, we have another chance with Iran. Always pulling jokes. Apparently, according to another HuffPo Salivating Post, the next 'joke' will be on them.

Which puts him right about back where he was when he took office. Remember Clinton, negotiations, intelligent people in government? Do you remember that, you pathetic troll?

Agreed, the current agreement with North Korea is EXACTLY what Madeline Albright/Clinton established. It was the GOP Senate which denied it. So after only 7 years of saber rattling we get back to where intelligent people using intelligent diplomacy had already brought us.

Should we be even remotely shocked by the infighting? The individual agendas, primarily to undo anything "Clinton" and the basic intransigent nature of the NeoCon/PNAC platform makes it clear that anything short of bellicose approaches to anything would be rare.

While I accept this book as 70% spin, the 30% that remains gives a fairly good glimpse into the reality of this administration. When they are gone, the resulting "exposes" will come out by many in the vainglorious hope of resurrecting already lost political careers.

America seems to get the government it deserves, given the clever way its plutocracy runs. Now, its had a good long slog with a man who supposedly has a "Harvard MBA" - I bet the Dean cringes every time he hears that - who manages by "confrontation" and old-buddyism with all the natural consequences.

But low and behold the crop lining up on both sides of the aisle to take over in 2009!! What a bunch of hummers they are!! Wait till they work their magic. America will be running tickety-boo once they hit the ground running - for sure.

America does government just like Detroit does cars.

By all early indications, Robert Draper's job in writing this book was to help George W. Bush sanatize his image and begin to launch the big cash-in. Spin, Spin, Spin. The funny thing is to see how loyal Bushies react to being saddled with responsibility for the worst administration in history, so Bush looks "better."

So what is the real story on the Harriet Meirs Supreme Court nomination. Either Chief Justice Roberts wanted a pawn he could control, or Bush himself is lying to cover-up his blatant cronyism. Neither picture is very pretty. Roberts sold his soul for the Chief Justice spot, and the "requests for payment" are beginning to arrive.

Without Rove there to craft the info and message, there should be lots of leaks about him coming out soon, from self-serving former "colleagues." End fighting in the Bush White House: fun spectator sport.

We can only feel joy at the thought that these morons hate one another and have been fighting each other for so long. As surprising as it is to learn that there were in fact differences of opinion in this group, we should be aware that there wasn't among them a side worth taking. They were all greedy and out for their own. It is a shame that some of those missing AK-47's couldn't have made their way into the cabinet meetings.

Not much on Vice-KnowItAll, but there seems to be plenty on Rove. My goodness, he over-stepped his bounds a few times! That must have caused Lord Idiot to deny him cherries on his ice cream sundaes now and then.

Most interesting is the apparent fact that Ronald Dumsfeld had overstayed his welcome, but that was only after he had lost the post-war. Cheney stabbed his long-time partner in government right in the back, though it is encouraging to hear that Cheney "ruminated over mistakes made". He appears to regret not murdering more Iraqi's and setting up a new dictator right away.

We wouldn't expect the moron to spend any time at the UN. Having not talked to so many over six years, and having lost the support of 160 nations - which was all his after his 9/11 - I would rather he went mountain biking in Waziristan....

I'd rather see them at war with each other then seeing them drag innocent people into wars they start militarily.

No wonder there has been little or no attention paid to domestic issues at the White House. If Draper is correct, they have been fighting two different fronts: Iraq and within the West Wing.

Bush is portrayed, time after time, as a Peter Pan figure. His only activity taking priority over his play time is scheming. Sounds like a kid who never outgrew his ADHD.

This article hints to Cheney taking on responsiblities that Bush may leave unfinished or not even started.
