Washington Post:

He also makes new disclosures about the behind-the-scenes infighting at the White House that helped prompt the change from Card to Bolten in the spring of 2006. By that point, he reports, some close to the president had concluded that "the White House management structure had collapsed," with senior aides Rove and Dan Bartlett "constantly at war."

He quotes Gillespie as telling one Republican while running interference for Alito's Supreme Court nomination: "I'm going crazy over here. I feel like a shuttle diplomat, going from office to office. No one will talk to each other."

O.K., Mr. Draper, you really are going to have to clarify "gassed."

Many on these posts complain of "Bush Bashing." I think it's a patriots duty to continually criticize and counter the destructive policies of any Authoritarian, anti-freedom demagogue. At this time, we've got two: Bush and Cheney.

So I'll keep "bashing" Bush until he is gone and the constitution of the United States restored as law of the land. Anything less would be unpatriotic.

It is the duty of all Americans to be active in investigation, examination, and criticism of all aspects of government.

It is when we become apathetic, blindly trust that things will "work themselves" out, and expect others to carry out these responsibilities for us, that government becomes overly powerful and corrupt.

Democracy is not just an idea, it is an activity.

The Huffington Post has become a site of collective thought. It has become a place for discussion and a class of ideas and viewpoints. This is important but not the end of the process.

We must bring these viewpoints to our elected officials through our contacts with them. We must share our ideas with those we contact in our daily lives. We must physically and collectively demonstrate against those policies which we see as wrong.

Wracked with infighting? This does come at a surprise to me. Personally I thought they were one big happy Christian family. Okay, enough of my sarcasm. Infighting and turf wars are parcel post for any administration. A healthy debate of options would serve any high level administrator. Frankly, that is not the picture of the Bush White House. I don't see policy options being thrown about rather I see relatively few actors making decisions without much debate or fact-checking for that matter. Decisions seemed more based for the theatre of politics. High drama it isn't, more a comedy of errors. I've said it before this administration is part Greek tragedy, part Roman farce. Whether there is serious in-fighting in the Bush White House I don't know, but it is plainly evident that the Bush White House is wracked by incompetence with a game plan that is more out of the Medieval Crusades than should befit a free Republic. Iraq is a war of choice. The United States chose to go to war. And all the while, Bush is telling the world that democracies don't go to war. In this the rhetoric is telling, it is an admission that the US is not a democracy or otherwise the speaker is rather incongruent. Which is it? Clearly our democratic and human rights have been eroded. We are less free today than we were on January 19, 2001. But we also suffer a leadership not just incompetent but illogical, delusional and frankly mercenary and evil.

What a weak man the fool is! He give respect where contempt is due and founders friends as cohorts as some romantic strut upon a cliched stage that succours nothing of a legacy and witnesses an astonishment a visage if ever,where idealists do live in a frustrant of denial!

I don't know what's more obscene: Bush supposedly starting an "institute of freedom" when by rights he should be hung for war crimes, or that he's planning to "fill his coffers" with lavish speaking fees, when he leaves Washington.

He just stole the lives and treasure of the free world for his oil buddies, can't they pay for his villa in Guatemala?

(After we hang him!)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now, um, would he have to actually "speak" to fill his coffers with the offered fees?

If so, the cupboards are going to be bare.
