Missing: Fugitive Fundraiser Hsu Skips Court Appearance

Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu failed to appear Wednesday for a bail hearing and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest.

Hsu forfeits the $2 million bail he posted last week.

Hsu's lawyer said he doesn't know where his client is.

Hsu had been a fugitive in California for 15 years during which time he became a top donor to Democratic candidates, including presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.

Hsu pleaded no contest in 1991 to a felony count of grand theft, admitting he'd defrauded investors of $1 million in a bogus investment scam. Prosecutors say he was facing up to three years in prison when he skipped town before being sentenced.

According to investigative blogger Flip Pidot, who delved into public records and crunched the numbers, Clinton took the lion’s share of political cash ($174,000) from Hsu and his network of suspected donor-bundlers whose campaign checks dwarfed their income. New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and New York Governor (and former attorney general) Eliot Spitzer accepted the largest sums of direct cash from Hsu.

I guess Dim's had a real 'bag' man.

Hello Chris -

I would say it is clearly because he has a lot of friend$ in high places.

And maybe the judge thought $2MM was enough to hold him.

One does wonder where the $2MM bail came from. The story mentions it took him several hours to get it. Was it his (Mr. Hsu) money, more or less in his possession, and he just needed to gather it together?

Or did he just need to wait for all those returning DNC, D-PAC and D-Congressional types' checks to clear?

One thing I truly don't understand.

Hillary Clinton is clearly the frontrunner for all of you liberals.

Every poll claims she's far ahead of the pack, in some polls by 20 or more points.

Yet, oddly enough, it's difficult to find any liberal supporting Hillary Clinton in the primary contest.

And now, you're learning that Hillary Clinton is "surprised" again to learn of the money she received from Mr. Hsu, who has mysteriously disappeared.

I truly do wonder why you liberals are able to be manipulated as much as you are.

Hillary isn't going to end the war, she voted for it and actually was one of the true supporters of the war most of you claim is "illegal".

She voted for the Patriot Act. Not once but twice.

But, she's your leading candidate. Your polls all claim that.

Both the Hillary Bush campaigns and the inexperienced Obama campaign took money from this fundraiser..

neither one returned the money.. in fact claims they did are lies..

the money was given to charity and used to offset tax liabilities thus serving both of these campaigns benefits.. which should tell you that both of these politicians are inherently corrupt..
