Senator Craig's Legal Team Includes Michael Vick's Lawyer

First Posted: 03/28/08 03:45 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 01:15 PM ET

One of Sen. Larry Craig's lawyers said Wednesday the Senate has no business looking into the conduct of one of its own following Craig's guilty plea in connection with an airport men's room sex sting...

...Craig has hired a high-powered crisis management team including Billy Martin, the lawyer for Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick in his dogfighting case, and Washington attorney Stan Brand, a former general counsel to the U.S. House. Martin is looking into the Minnesota guilty plea; Brand, who represented Major League Baseball in the congressional investigation into steroid use, will handle any Senate Ethics Committee probe.

Larry Craig a closeted homosexual..... Come out - Good for the Republican party, they need more doves less hawks!
Do you believe he's being punished by the republican party for being a homosexual or for admitting to lude behavior -----> http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=440

God, what a dopey story. Is this the level of coverage here? What does it mean that Vick's lawyer is also Sen. Craig's? It means that Vick and Craig want a top lawyer and they both have money to pay, say, $500 an hour for the privilege. Turn the page.

No, it goes back to Roman times.

Tu quoque.......

Repiglicans have only gotten as far as they have by playing the various wedge issues:

racebaiting

gaybashing

immigrant bashing

"right to life"

etc.

So, it is an important story when their own hypocrisy rises out of the slime.

As with Alberto, I predict this story has "long, beautiful legs".

You know, as much as I love watching yet another conservative Republican congressman caught up in a really sleazy scandal, I can't help but feel that this whole "bathroom police sex sting" smacks of entrapment, and that cops really have better things to do. It reminds me of a police sting they did in our little town in which the cops left a camera in the front seat of a car with the window rolled down, then they videotaped and arrested about a half-dozen juveniles who reached in the open window and took the camera.
I think Craig pleaded guilty to begin with just to try and sweep the whole thing under the rug.

Some lawyers will defend anyone if the PRICE is right.

True, but that's a good thing as well.

Everyone deserves due process and fair representation and legal counsel under our current judicial system.

I don't know about you, but I'm glad we live in a country where such laws exist.

Deals with corrupt politicians and bloodthirsty sports figures. I used to think attorneys did not deserve the negative press. Guess there's an exception to every rule.

Every dog must have his day.

Every dogfighter must have his attorney.

Every Repiglican Senator must have his ______.

What's the difference.....

Vick kills dog.

Craig spanks the monkey in bathrooms.

If it wasn't for the excrutiatingly painful abuse and death these animals had to suffer at Michael Vicious' own hands, it's almost funny what you wrote.

Why would you do that? Craig's crimes didn't involve any dogs... right...?
03:00 PM on 09/05/2007
Well, since Craig's morality has already "gone to the dogs", I think it is appropriate to have that lawyer defend him. Life's a "bitch" and 'naughty nasty bad boy' Craig is always out looking for a "bone"! :-))
