Thompson's Potential Enemies: Fox News And Drudge?

Politico:

As he prepares to launch his presidential campaign, Fred Thompson could have two potential adversaries that no Republican hopeful can afford: Fox News and Matt Drudge.

The influential Fox pundits, Fred Barnes and Brit Hume, have been fairly skeptical of Thompson for some time. Carl Cameron, aggressive reporter that he is, was the one who spotlighted the former lobbyist sporting of Gucci loafers at the Iowa state fair and riding around in a golf cart there.

But now Thompson has taken two more steps that haven't won him any friends at what is effectively the network of record for GOP primary voters. First, he decided to skip their debate tonight in New Hampshire. One can almost hear the expletives coming out of Roger Ailes mouth as he ponders what could have been ratings-wise had Thompson launched his campaign by doing the Fox debate.

I don't believe Fred Thompson has the energy to run for president. He doesn't look good.

I think even if he were healthy though that he couldn't win anyway. What's he got going for him besides the fact that he's not Mitt, Rudy or Huckabee?

The republicans sure don't have a good line-up.

Except Ron Paul. But the media doesn't like Ron Paul. I wonder why. Even though Paul has a healthy internet following, the MSM fefuse to become engaged with him. He's a really interesting guy, but they give him a pass.

The democrats have a better line-up, but we still see just the same 3 faces.

Our media picks our presidents by chosing who to focus their attentions and their coverage on. How's that for fair elections?
