On the September 6 edition of MSNBC's Tucker, host Tucker Carlson quoted Michelle Obama, wife of Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL), from a recent interview with Glamour as saying of her husband and children: "We have this ritual in the morning. They come in my bed, and Dad isn't there -- because he's too snore-y and stinky, they don't want to ever get into bed with him." Glamour left out a key word from Michelle Obama's quote; she had said, "They come in my bed, and if Dad isn't there ..." -- the addition of "if" turning her remark into a conditional statement that her children come into bed "if Dad isn't there." But Carlson went beyond Glamour's original error, asserting, based solely on the inaccurate quote, that "the Obamas do not sleep in the same bed, Mrs. Obama is saying." Later in the program, Carlson reported that he "just received a call from the Obama campaign taking issue" with his claim that Michelle Obama said "the Obamas do not sleep in the same bed." Carlson claimed to "know nothing about the Obama's bedroom habits beyond what Michelle Obama has told the rest of us," and reread the excerpt from the interview adding: "I don't know anything she hasn't told me. So if there's more they want to tell us about their bedroom habits, this is the show to tell us on."

Even after Glamour edited the posted transcript, CNN's Political Ticker blog posted the inaccurate version of Michelle Obama's quote in a September 7 entry, despite linking to the updated Glamour transcript:

If I were an MSNBC network honcho, I might just start to notice how there hasn't been one post that defends Tucker Carlson in even the most mediocre of terms.

NB:The people have spoken and the natives have restless remotes.

AS you can see, Tucker has the lowest ratings of all the shows on cable NEWS in his time period and Abrams isn't much better~!~!~!

It's not because he's stupid -- Carlson is just a sleazy, dishonest whore.

When the facts aren't working for him, he makes shit up. He's got time to fill, you know.

The right-wing agenda always comes first. He has to answer to his conservative colleagues and they are an unforgiving bunch.

I only know my sleeping habits.

When Baracko starts speaking, I start sleeping.

Tucker is to news reporting as Annie Koulter is to virginity
Karly Rove is to politics as Nixon was to honesty
Fredo Gonzalez was to memory function as F-Thee Cheney is to poverty

Gee Dubba Bu$h is to language as ????

Maybe the bespectacled Margaret Carlson needs to explain her own sleeping situation.
Before he decided to marry his young blonde GOP-operative trophy wife, Fred Thompson dated...gasp...Margaret Carlson. And according to several articles, Ms. Carlson still has a soft spot for the old right-wingnut:

So it seems anything she "reports" about a potential Thompson opponent should be taken with some degree of skepticism.

That, sadly for the networks is the way the white bread crumbles.
Makes ya want an AFRICAN american for PREZ, huh?

Tucker is very annoying. He opposes something and in ten seconds totally change his mind. "Ya, you know, I totally agree" are his favorite words.

He argues about irrelevant topics. He takes cheap shots while admiring the person he is trying to debase, at the same time. "You know, I totally respect the guy but..."

Well, that's Tucker in a nut shell.

Carlson is a wise-ass punk with a silverspoon in his mouth. They won't get rid of him at NBC/MSNBC and I am sure it has to do with the fact that he is one of the heirs to the Swanson Frozen Food fortune. That company spends a lot of money on advertising--both on TV and in print. So don't look for him to leave soon.

When he was at Trinity College in Hartford he was not well liked at all. He's a real loud mouth and a buffoon.
Abrams doesn't deserve the gig he has but I guess on legal matters, he's riding on his Dad's coattails. Jeff Toobin on CNN is very sharp. As far as Scarborough goes, his show is worthless and boring.

I agree--they never should have canned Imus. He railed against the administration and the idiots in congress--he held people accountable--or at least he tried which is more than the press corps is doing.

Scarborough abuses the wonderful Mika, and I really think he is "on" something! He demonstrates "all the symptoms!"

I've always thought of Tucker Carlson as an heir from some extremely wealthy family who has never really had to work for anything. And I was right. But the air time he gave to the Obamas for this magazine article was a little weird. He and his guests (not the Obamas of course) kept discussing it over and over, day after day, as if the federal government might be flying nuclear warheads to a base in North Dakota. And the base just happens to be the the staging ground for the Middle East. Or a member of W's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board just made a HUGE oil deal with Kurdistan.

We must have our priorities.

Blow-Tie and a buddy of mine evidently have a mutual friend, who says that "Life is miserable for carlson now. He is hated EVERYWHERE."

No amount of spin will take him out of his waning career days.

He's stuck.

What can he do, admit that he has aided and abetted in the worst crime in recent American History? He doesn't know who to trust anymore. Afraid that his employers will ditch him for being inefficient at misleading us. Afraid to admit to the truth. Hell on Earth. Fitting for a servant of his caste.

A pitiful life awaits him now. He's into all kinds of bad stuff. But it will likely come out in good time.

Tucker, by the way what an obnoxious name, is to TV and radio what Georgie is to politics. Bought and paid for by Daddy. The powers that be are afraid to step on toes, so jr. (in both instances) is given a job. Money can buy ANYTHING in this country, even a dubious "career". I never watch this little dweeb. I saw him making a total ass of himself trying to dance, and that was enough for me.

To extend the analogy, Tucker is to TV news as 'Mallary Fillmore' is to newspaper cartoons. Ideological slant trumps credentials, competence, and even coherance.

My solution to Tucker I don't watch his show and nor do I listen to his lies!
