AP:

President Bush's top two military and political advisers on Iraq will warn Congress on Monday that making any significant changes to the current war strategy will jeopardize the limited security and political progress made so far, The Associated Press has learned.

U.S. Ambassador Ryan Crocker, who has been less forthcoming than Gen. David Petraeus in advance of his testimony, will join Petraeus in pushing for maintaining the U.S. troop surge, seeing it as the only viable option to prevent Iraq and the region from plunging into further chaos, U.S. officials said.

A recommendation to stay the course...As if this were ever in doubt from day one. Did anyone actually expect Petraeus to report anything else??

Save your words, folks.

Continuous war keeps those handling Bush/Cheney in power and whomever will succeed them.

The wars must be stopped!

Isn't it amusing (except to young Ameicans and Iraqis who are being killed and maimed as all of this continues) how the Petraeus Report morphed into the Petraeus/Crocker Report and then morphed further into the White House Report? Evidently, even someone who has been as loyal to Bush as he has been disloyal to his superiors and the troops under his command as General David "Michael Brown" Petraeus has been, was not fully trusted by Bush. So early on, all of a sudden, Paul Bremer (another Michael Brown) protege Ryan Crocker became a co-author of the Petraeus Report. Did the media challenge it, or even ask why? No, they simply continued to portray it as the Petraeus report as if Bush's commissar, Ryan Crocker, was always going to be part of the Petraeus Report. And even as it became apparent the "surge" (actually escalation) has failed, and that Petraeus was telling everyone it was working, so long as it is extended for a decade, the media kept acting as if the Petraeus Report, starring bit player Ryan Crocker, had any legitimate meaning.

The only legitimacy here, both in the media's coverage (the surge has made Iraq more secure and is working) are the first five letters of Crocker's last name. This whole "Petraeus Report" adventure is a crock.

Ambassador Crocker is not to be trusted.

I wonder how many times he has ventured out of the Green Zone.

why has the UN not begun a war crimes investigation?

Why has the UN not condemned the invasion/occupation of Iraq?

Bush has finally found two generals who put their careers before their honor or their country.

Congress must say no to this continued insanity.

Bring our troops home, now.

I am so damn sick of the situation in Iraq I could barf.

Lest we forget, Bush, Cheney, et. al. wanted to invade Iraq to; (1) Remove WMDs. (2) Remove Saddam from power. No WMDs were found, and Saddam was removed and hung. That SHOULD have been the end of the story. WHY, are our troops now involved in a civil war in Iraq?

Recently at my six month check-up at a nearby VA hospital I was talking to two guys who had just finished their 2nd tours in Iraq. They are as disgusted as I am, because they don't know who the hell they are fighting in Iraq. They feared turning their backs on the Iraqi police or members of the Iraqi army because they didn't know who's side they were on.

The Iraqis have been fighting each other for 1300+ years. Not one more drop of American blood should be shed so that the various factions in Iraq can kill each other.

Congress, it is NOW time for ALL OF YOU to support the troops. Don't give the "decider" one more damn nickle of funding. Without funding, the "decider" can no longer prosecute this debacle.

I'm sure Pelosi and her people have a banner to spread out at their next news conference and some catchy slogan printed on it. Anything's better than actually doing something about Bush, I guess.

I say clear out the whole lot of them and get some amateurs who actually give a damn about the US and its LEGAL citizens and residents.

"I'm sure Pelosi and her people have a banner to spread out at their next news conference and some catchy slogan printed on it. Anything's better than actually doing something about Bush, I guess."

Democrats are eager to send a strong signal of disapproval to the White House, by introducing another symbolic, nonbinding resolution...BEFORE they express support for the troops by giving GENOCIDE GEORGE anything & everything he wants.

The Democrats had better SHAPE UP, OR SHIP OUT! America CANNOT afford another 4 YEARS of FEARS, TEARS & "Do you think they're QUEERS?"

Give us BACK our freedom...and give gays THEIR freedom!

Stay safe, healthy and happy,
Love, Loretta
