Nas has hit back at Fox News pundit Bill O'Reilly, who claimed that his inclusion at a concert dedicated to the Virginia Tech massacre is insulting to the memories of the victims.

O'Reilly claimed that picking an artist such as Nas for the Concert For Virginia Tech, which took place last night (September 6), "insults the victims, the university, and the entire commonwealth." ...

However, Nas has now hit back at O'Reilly, claiming he is racist.

In an interview with MTV, he said: "Everybody has a marketing plan; his marketing plan is racism.

O'Reilly is a moronic, self-aggrandizing, vitriolic blowhard 99% of the time. In this instance, however, he is right. Nas should not have been on the list of performers, nor should anyone who has been making money off of perpetuating the violent stereotype of rap.

I never buy the line that is always thrown out in defense of rappers with abhorrent lyrics, "it's just a character." For all of the grieving relations of those killed, someone like Nas is the wrong choice.

Why are people so stupid. Music lyrics do not influence people to commit violence! It is just a song, a medium of expression. You are just scared of the angry scary black man. Nas sings violnts songs and uplifting songs. He not going to sing "Shoot Em Up" at the virgina teh concert! O'Reily really is a racist. He know exactly who his audience is. I know who his audience is. They are old people who find black culture scary and Bill O know's exaclty how to get ratings.

Another example:

Bill Cosby can say it's a problem that 70% of black babys are born to unwed mothers or it's sad that half of the abortions in the USA are of black babys, but Bill O'Riley couldn't say that without starting a big bruhaha.

You don't see a valid point in there at all?

If Nas talks about crime in the streets, he's just keepin' it real and telling the story of what he see's, right?

If a white guy were to point out that black on black crime is a real problem, for example a black man is seven times more likely to kill another black man than a white man is to kill a white man, that might be seen as racist, only because of the color of the source.

If I point out that whites have serious problems with drugs and pedophilia, I'm called a racist. Why is that? To your question, black on black crime is a problem.

All of these people making comments about Nas or rap music in general, most likely do not even listen to this genre of music... So why do you feel you can add to this discussion. Your ignorant comments come off feeling racist. Nas and hiphop in general have done a lot songs positive for black and all americans. Any dummy can pick one song or lyric to prove their point - Fox News does it all the time.

Not just one song or lyric gmtwin.

Positive, right... still looking for a positive message.

Nas:

"Power and crime, the thugs slingin powder and dimes
Twenties of D, is yo' niggaz wilder than mine?
My niggaz bust nines, puff lye and stick up cowards
for they shine, you resist, then you push up flowers
I'm like Lou Cabrasi, Vito's best hit-man
That's "Godfather" shit, back seat, next lit plans
Revolvers spit, I'm too tough to bargain with
And you don't want the God to pull up the cars that's sick
Arms and wrists is lit up, Queensbridge Kings
Plaques awards applause when I do my thing
Streets is black as midnight, the concrete gray
with stains of blood and germ and piss all day
Come on the ave, get sized up, plus appraised
Duck and pray that my guns dont' bust your way
Niggaz with names, livin off reputation
Sometimes gotta remind you ain't nothin changin"

Rap music is garbage, anymore. Long gone are the days of Grandmaster Flash and the people that really had something, there, anymore it's about money and reinforcing stereotypes...politics set to music...is still politics...

WTF is wrong with you stupid liberals?

Who gives a shit what a dumb rapper thinks? He's a racist and sexist. Black trash... if you will.

Wow, what a true artist (rolling my eyes).

[Chorus]
I know you think you got it together player, but fuck the bird you with
And listen close to the makings of a perfect bitch
Listen close to the makings of a perfect bitch
There's always one thing wrong and you wish that you could switch
Or fix, while you shapin' every curve and hips, you heard of this?
The makings of a perfect bitch

[Nas]
A ghoul at night, I role like Jack the Ripper trying to choose my wife
I need a ass of a stripper, fat lipper
Mad niggaz in this one predicament
You try to choose a loyal one and stick with it
My stupid dick again searching for something to jump and then start humpin'
Convincing me that the history of a woman is about leaving a nigga with nothing
So my experiences taught me how to come up with a plan to make a right one for the man
A toy for the boy, the one that righteously will understand
And since I can't find her I guess I gotta make her
I creep in the night like a kinky undertaker
I think I'm on a caper to abduct a nerd from the Ivy League
Next stop at the strip club snatch a bad one and flee
What's next, I'm stakin' out a five star restaurant to kidnap the chef
Say goodbye to the stress.

"Ashley was now wearing only brief white panties. She had signaled her desire by removing her shirt and skirt, and by leaning back on the couch. She closed her eyes, concentrating on nothing but Shannon's tongue and lips. He gently teased her by licking the areas around her most sensitive erogenous zone. Then he slipped her panties down her legs and, within seconds, his tongue was inside her, moving rapidly."-Bill O'lielly

Looks like he blends right in.

Let's be honest here..it's the in-thing to do these days: blame everything bad on hip-hop. Just a few hours after the Michael Vick dog fighting stroy broke, people in the media started blaming "rap music" for dog fighting. I mean...c'mon already.

Regarding Bill O'Reilly..I don't know if he's racist or just confused. For one thing, a few years ago, he criticized Serena Williams for wearing that sexy body-hugging black outfit at the US Open( for the record, I loved it), saying she was setting a bad example for the young women who idolized her, but he was challenged by a guest - can't remember who it was, about a similar outfit that Britney Spears wore onstage, and O'Reilly said "well...Britney's just an entertainer."

Huh?

Bill also likes to attack rap music as violent, yet he proudly tells us that his favorite TV show is The Sopranos.

Bill is confused.

If your criterion of CLEARITY is consistency its best to turn off Fox completely and stick with NBC or even CNN. |They are nothing if not consistent, although you have to wonder at Larry KING DEVOTING ANOTHER full show yesterday to the Anna NICOLE STORY AND ITS REENT UNFOLDING. King's choice of TOPICS AND REPEATED GUESTS IS SOMETIMES BENEASTH FOX AND BENEATH EVEN big BILL. BUT THEY MAKE UP FOR IT ON THEIER WEB PAGE ANDUSE OF VIDEO HEADLINES. IN SHORT, BILL IS CONSISTENTLY bill, and LARRY IS INCONSISTENTLY LARRY, BUT HE IS CONSISTENT IN HIS INCONSISTENCY, SO ...FINALLY...HE IS NOT CONFUSED EITHER. both would argree its all about the ratings and this means the lowest commmon denominator....which leads to making SCANDALS into ongoing sagas about whom no body care at all ...but the suits and theier ratings for the advertisers . BLAME THE ADVERTISERES!!!!!!!

my post was in response to all the attacks on hiphop music. in my opinion i dont think bill going at nas had anything to do with racism.

As was Kanya West, Nas is slightly off-base about O'Reilly. His bias is directed all perceived "underclasses," be it minorities, women, gays, or religion(anything other than the racist male-dominated evangelical movement).
I think we need to see the fight in that manner, where these groups unite against this effort to takedown the country, and had it to the one percent.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:24 PM on 09/09/2007

O'Riely is not evangelical - he's Catholic.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 02:10 PM on 09/09/2007

Forget him being Catholic, he's Irish and thus gives voice to both very noble and very rotten human instincts and behavior. He is certainly right that illegal drunk drivers and speeders should be arrested and deported, BUT you could go even furthur and question whther they are entittled to any due process at all. He is certainly right about child molestors not being allows to go free, BUT you could go further and make this a capital crime which surely might be a deterrent. In this way, he is IRISH SENTIMENTAL, AND SOFT. On the other hand, BILL
IS ROTTEN IRISH in the way he catigates the left to being the emnbodiment of the DEVIL, and in this way he is just another rotten RED BAITER LIKE NIXON. Bill has a horrific tendency to LABEL genuine democrats as EVIL
THREATS to his fantasies about what is going on in the real world. HE SHOULD RETIRE TO THE VILLAGES AND PLAY GOLF and deliever his tirades
between holes to all those willing to listen and keep walking and talking with him.

where is the story here? Let VT have whoever they want perform there. Bill reacts like he always does, does that surprise anyone? By the way, Nas is an ARTIST, his lyrics are sexist and violent but he did not invent it. Like it or not those are parts of AMERICAN culture.grow up people.

But the question is, - if Bill O'Riely critisizes Nas does that make him a racist?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:22 PM on 09/09/2007

Now imagine if a white artist would use the first two lines of Nas rascist rap using the "nigga" word a few times ? Bill may have some extrem oopinions out their but the blatant racism belongs to NAS.. Check out the Al Sharpton hat , racist machine sometime. The more racncid, vitriolic, and putrid the leftist hipocracy is spewed usually shows that their targest are right

Not because of Bill O'Riely.

If this rapper thought about the victims he would have NOT done this "song" for his own benefit. Typical of issue, the racist label is always used as a trigger term to strike back...no logical basis just the emotional term.

Bill O'Reilly would rather go after brilliant musicians like Nas and Ludacris instead of those committing murder and genocide in Iraq. hardly news, but typical of the mainstream media.

Brilliant musicians?? Clean the wax out of your ears Amos or what ever the hell your name is!! How about Winton Marsalis, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Christian McBride, Jo Chambers, Cassandra Wilson, Diana Reeves? You need to stay the hell out of the retarded rap section and find some intelligence in your life. Only then will you prevent Frederick Douglas from turning over in his grave.

Well, Bill O'Reilly and his benefactor, Fox "News" are de-facto propaganda ministers for the Bush Administration and the Republican Party.

The Republicans need all the help they can get to deflect from the myriad issues that put them in a bad light, so they throw divisiveness to their base (the same base that will willingly and consistently vote against their own interests). At this point, the Republican Party has fallen and cannot get up.

O'Reilly is also sexist, stupid, arrogant, egotistical, talentless, abusive. But, he write good soft porn.

POSTHRUDAHART,

Can a call you Pos? or Dahart? or Thrud? Eh, we'll figure it out. I really loved how you started this post. You kinda set it up nicely with a little intrigue and mystery- I, for one, was dying to find out who this "Crapster" character really was. Then you brought in the KKK and the Nazis and I was like "right on". But you bailed out in the end and didn't tie up the loose ends. "Fill in the blank"? WTF mate? What, are you posting a sequel to that gem?

Post a comment calling oliely and this CRAPster who is calling him a racist both the pieces of of SHIT that they both are and the response from the 'minority' folk is to call you a racist. Shows how lame and empty mr. CRAPsters 'racist' comment is, since that and the 'I'm a po victim' moan are the only things these guys can come up with. Don't expect to get any respect from anyone for being bigots and whiners yourselves. At least the Nazi's and KKK folks are straight up about it. You, on the other hand, try to present yourselves as 'progressives' but are really just black racists, and white apologists for black racists. You all can kiss my (FILL IN THE BLANK) ASS you bunch of phony chickenfuckers.
