On the September 9 edition of NBC's Meet The Press, United States Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware) announced that he believes the US military surge in Iraq is "a failure."

"The truth of the matter," said Biden, who just returned from Iraq, "is that this administration's policy and the surge are a failure."

Senator Joe Biden is a smoke and mirrors magician, look he's pulled a rabbit out of his hat. Biden's argument is that Bush screwed up the war, and he (Biden) can do a better job of running the war... not that he believes that the war is wrong, he's a hawk.

Biden just like Bush will attack Iran in a heartbeat, that escalates the war.

If that's what you want Bidens' your guy, go for it. But so it Bush in that case, or Hillary Clinton for that matter.

Biden has great hair. With hair like that, he must know what he's talking about. Although I would not buy a used car from him.

Senator Biden is absolutely the most knowledgeable and qualified candidate running for President; but will the American people nominate him??? Hell NO. They will run someone like Obama with as little experience as Dumbo. Sad to say it's a popularity contest.

I do NOT certainly agree with a lot of what Biden says or ultimately does; however that does not change the facts of his experience and qualifications !!!

Listen to Biden. He's telling it like it is, unlike all the other senators and representatives who've come home from Iraq mindlessly burbling on about the "progress" being made there. Biden, in his small state of Delaware, is more able to meet with ordinary people on the street and get an earful from them. He's not isolated in Washington, as so many of our Congress people are.

Even with the Great Decider and our censored media keeping the whole truth from us, and Bush still even today connecting untruthfully 9/11 to Iraq, we know we have sentenced Iraq to unremitting chaos, from Baghdad to Basra and all the way over to Anbar Province. You can tell by Biden's face in the TV clip that he's shocked by what he has seen in Iraq. We've failed, he said in so many words, and he says the only kind of government in Iraq that has a chance is de-centralized, local government, town by town, village by village--under a very loose federal umbrella. I believe Doomsday will come before the secretarian leaders in Baghdad will accept some kind of unity or cohesion. They are the spawn of 900 plus years of religious separation and hatred and are unable to change.

All this talk about improving picture in Iraq is just a sham as the RepugThugs did before. Just one more chance & just few more lies ..some more propagnada & we will convice some more folks ..And by that time Dumbya will be out of the office & leave the clossal strategic blunder that he committed - to the new President. Democrats should always pin this on Boosh (Boosh Iraq war) & nothing less...
He is already looking to retire & give speeches (hilarious someone will pay him to give speeches) ..& He is craeting a Freedom Institute (What a Joke or a cruel joke) by this AH...

Yadda, yadda.

Anyone who sees anything more than typical political blathering from a party extremist (a party hack) is a blind follower.

That's not to say the Republicans or Petraeus are right. It's to say that Biden said NOTHING!

Who can doubt that the enormous air base that is being established in Iraq will remain whether the majority of troops leave or the Democrats or the Republicans have their way? And why is this point left out of the discussions on Iraq? Jane's defense weekly has been reporting on long term procurement for the Iraq theater since the beginning of the invasion. The old issues make good reading, there are contracts for the Iraq conflict described with delivery dates stretching out many years into the war.

If Congress or the Bushies really wanted to cut off most of the insurgency at the knees, they would enact a law/executive order prohibiting either permanent bases or investment by American companies except under a treaty ratified by an Iraqi plebiscite. That would wipe out a huge portion of the popular "anti-occupier" sentiment that's supporting the insurgency _and_ a lot of distrust of the Iraqi central government.

Biden follows up with Gates to make sure the troops are getting their MRAPs. He again did that this week.

Wake up people! Even if the Senate voted tomorrow 100-0 to bring our troops home, they would not be coming home later in the week.
Do you really want them killed or maimed while they are still there??

Another point Biden was right on was that even if the Senate stopped the funding, Bsh is still going to keep his war going. Bsh's goal is to pass this war onto the next President.

Forgive me, but do you think these vehicles just roll off assembly lines? Do you have any idea how long it takes? I didn't think so.

Biden, is correct about very little. He's a hawk on the war that's the truth of it.

I really like Biden, and I think he's right on Iraq, and Sudan, for that matter. Now if only he'd come out in favor of a national health service, I'd be behind him 100%. C'mon, Joe, you can do it! National health service!

I am a recovering Republican who always liked Biden until he voted for the war.Imperial belief in America's right to invade laughably weak third world countries on a whim has become very expensive and in the long run will lead to a change of power in the ME opposite to the one desired. The buyer's remorse now being expressed by some is as despicable as the bravado of those who remain defiant including Hillary. Was it too much to ask these preening fools to read the intelligence reports.POTUS is a gold plated something but the Democrats are worse for not opposing him. There will be no payback for this since he can point the finger at his opponents. We wonder at the fact that arabs hate us for acting like a bully.I have no one to vote for.

Voting for authorization 6 months before the president recklessly went in while the inspectors were in the country is not the same thing as saying "please go to war Bush." If you are still holding grudges after five years against the ONE GUY who has a plan to get out without leaving chaos behind, then fine. Your apathy will cost us a great leader in Biden.

Biden 08!

Yes, but he also said he will CONTINUE to support funding for the war, in order for troops to get the Cougar up-armored truck.

This is the spineless, cowardly nonsense I can't stand. The Dems are going to continue funding the war for "the safety of the troops."

Spin. Spin. Spin. That's all we get.

The Dems are NOT going to bring the troops home.

Don't you people listen or read? It seems to me that you just hear a word or part of a sentence and off you go into an angry rant that makes no sense. No wonder we have had Bush for 2 terms,I guess he was right when he said Americans do not understand how their government works. You all are just like Bush, don't listen, don't entertain the possibility that there might be a better way than what you think. We are in more danger by folks like you than we are from the terrorists.
Once More: Joe Biden is not for the war!

As long as it's not the children of the Rich dying, nothing will change in Iraq, and Bush will attack Iran long before we can ever get troops out or resolve any of the Iraq disaster..

Simple as that..
