Iraq war commander General David Petraeus is poised to mount a staunch defense of the US troop surge strategy Monday, in one of the most dramatic appearances of a witness before Congress in years.

The talismanic general faces a hostile barrage from Democrats over if and when troops can come home from a four-year war that has killed more than 3,700 US soldiers, tens of thousands of Iraqis and cost half a trillion dollars.

We actually have about one-half of the legislative branch acquiescing in the executive branch's idea that they are obsolete. It would be interesting if the Republican congressmen took a stand on this issue. They've been sitting on their asses either doing nothing for six years or standing in the way of anything getting done. If there's a bigger pile of slop than the congressional Republicans I'd like to see it.

IF WE'RE IN IRAQ TO FIGHT "AL QAEDA", THE TERRORISTS RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11, WHY DO WE NEED 160,000 AMERICAN SOLIDIERS TO THWART A FORCE ESTIMATED TO BE AT BEST 3,000?

IS "AL QAEDA'S" FORCE OF 3000 SO MUCH BETTER ORGANIZED, ARMED AND EQUIPPED THAT THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO DEFEAT 160,000 AMERICAN SOLDIERS?

IS "AL QAEDA'S" FORCE OF 3000 SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE NEARLY 4000 AMERICAN DEATHS THUS FAR?

HOW MANY AMERICAN"S WERE KILLED BY SUNNIS OR SHITES? HOW MANY AL QAEDA HAVE BEEN KILLED BY AMERICAN TROOPS IN IRAQ?

WHO IS DOING THE KILLING OF THE HUNDREDS OF THOSANDS OF IRAQI CIVILIANS?

AL QAEDA ISN"T THE REASON FOR ALL THE KILLING THAT"S GOING ON IN IRAQ. GEORGE W. BUSH IS!

DO YOU THINK THE PEOPLE LIVING IN THE DESERT KNOW THAT TRYING FIGHT IN 130 DEGREE TEMP IS NOT A GOOD IDEA?
AMERICAN TROOPS ARE EXHAUSTED FROM THE HEAT!
WILL THE AMERICAN TROOPS BE ABLE TO COME UP WITH THE ENGERY TO FIGHT REFRESHED ATTACKERS, WHO TOOK TIME OFF WHILE IT WAS 130 DEGREES OUTSIDE?
WHO IS RUNNING THIS WAR?

I know. But Petaeus has decided that whichever group of Iraqis we wish to kill on a particular day can be called al Qaeda in Iraq (AQI).

AQI is a very flexible group. It can even include women and children, but only on days when we kill or torture some.

A very useful group, this AQI is.

Will the General tell the AMERICAN PEOPLE that one reson the U.S. Military losses are down is becaue it was 130 degrees in Iraq for the past month or so.
Will he tell them that the attacks will resume when the attackers feel they can escape without passing out from heat exhaustion in lower temps.
THIS IS COMMON SENSE!
