Gore was asked to endorse a candidate, but he should pull a Cheney and endorse himself. Gore/Feingold '08 has a nice ring to it.

And why would he NOT be unhappy with Clinton's personal behavior? So was I, and so was everyone I knew. I stood up for Clinton when he was in office, but I should not have had to do so. He knew that they were "gunning" for him, and he gave them all the ammunition they needed. He gave us 8 years of G.W. Bush, and he helped to destroy our country with his arrogant, adolescent, narcissistic behavior! Al Gore has all the right in the world to be angry with Bill Clinton, and I agree with him. I think Al Gore is a more intelligent and a more mature person than Bill Clinton, and I would LOVE for him to try it again as our candidate! We need someone with more "gravitas" than who we have running now, if we are to be assured a victory! I for one believe that person is Al Gore!

The field of less-than-acceptable Democratic candidates may be begging Gore for an endorsement BUT the actual voters are begging Gore to run for re-election.
Bill Clinton helped to spoil Gore's chance in 2000. Let's hope Gore does the same to HRC and decides to take this election.

My guess it will not be a front runner. Hillary has herself and Obama has Oprah. He'll stand up for the little guy.

That or announce that he's running.

Gore would steamroll over that awful Hillary without breaking a sweat.
Without him running my hope is that he not only backs Obama but, helps mute the power elites who with the press are trying to undermine Obama.

On second thought, mute the power elites doing everything possible to make sure Hillary is the nominee (did you did a load of that insulting newsweek cover) and make sure anyone but, Hillary is nominated.

I must be missing something about John Edwards or he possesses the ubiquitous tragic flaw of inane advisors.

The press release coming out of his camp regarding Gore sounds like a love note passed in highschool class. Edwards should be in aggressive reality discussions with Gore right now. There would most likely be areas of emphasis to be resolved, and Edwards would have to modify priority in some issues in his campaign. It is still early enough for some juggling with a minimum of pain.

There is nothing that should be a showstopper. Their agendas are very similar, obviously Gore's priority is different. Yet, it is not lost on Gore how his national and worldwide impact would increase exponentially if he had a cabinet position or some position-of-power-to-be-named-later by the president elect.

Let's look at the facts. (OK. So it's my opinion.)

If Hillary gets the nomination, progressives lose, lose, or lose. The DLC and likeminded brethren will bump progressives from the Democratic policy table as she makes a hard Right turn to shake moderate Republicans out of the trees and schrubbery. If she should somehow win the election, we will end up wasting another 4 to 8 years bitching about a Washington all too similar to this beauty of a Bubble we have today. If she loses, we go back to the bunkers.

Obama is a wonderful man and candidate, but he is going through a double piling on. He has the growing pains of moving to critical national prominence, AND the wax and wane of huge power influencers working on him. Historically, it is difficult to avoid getting caught in some state of less than maximum potential as the realities work on the candidate, new to the landmined landscape.

The only critical mistake Gore/Edwards could make is a chicken and egg waiting game. Gore waiting too long for Edwards to demonstrate traction. Edwards waiting too long to work for an endorsement which will jet fuel his prospects.

I would likely support Gore if he chose to get into the race.

If Gore sat this one out, however, and endorsed another candidate, his endorsement would have no impact whatsoever on my choice in the Democratic primary.

Endorsements are only valuable as a way of telling people who NOT to vote for. Gore's endorsement would be meaningless except for voters who dislike Gore and won't vote for any candidate he supports.

What did his "04" endorsement mean? Ask President Dean? Oh, I forgot he didn't get out of the primaries. Who gives a shit if Gore endorses anyone. Think and research the candidates yourself. Make up your own mind and live with the decision. I would like to see a better informed electorate make better decisions than in the last 30 years. The moron in chief is a prime example not to vote for.
