6 Years Later, 9/11 Families Remember The Fallen

USA Today:

As the nation commemorates the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks today, Braginsky and dozens of others whose loved ones perished that day gathered near Ground Zero to participate in a forum focused more on remembrance than mourning.

With the theme "Preserving 9/11," the annual conference hosted by the advocacy group Voices of Sept. 11th launched the 9/11 Living Memorial, a digital repository of photographs and mementoes of those who died in the 2001 attacks and the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

We will remember them every time we need to question our government. We will question why and who? We will question everything our government has told us, and still we will come short from true answers.

We now realize that we are little people for our government. We are expendable for the sake of ulterior motives. At then end Bush and cabal, and possibly future governments, want us to become 'good Germans'.

Not one day since 11 Sept has pasted that I haven't kept these brave men and women and their families in my heart and thoughts, now the only true way to honor them is for the entire nation to demand the impeachment of this failed administration and prosecution of anyone associated with them since 2000 (including those EPA peeps that said the 'air quality' at the site was 'ok' just to wear the masks!
Sorry to say it it sickens me but this administration along with bin (forgotten) laden could have set-up this attack on American soil and that is something that the 9/11 commission didnt fully disclose :( .
May WE (the people) keep these trur heros of 11 Sept. in our heart and thoughts always.

"President Clinton ordered two attack submarines to stand watch over the Taliban and bin Laden's terrorists. Bush ordered the subs to stand down. See: The Covert Hunt for bin Laden: Broad Effort Launched After '98 Attacks, The Washington Post: 12/19/01. Clinton warned the Taliban he would hold the Taliban leadership personally responsible for any attack by bin Laden against Americans. Bush lifted that decree. See: Clinton's War on Terror: The Covert Hunt for bin Laden, The Washington Post, 12/20/01. But Bush eliminated these safeguards."

Without the capture and trial of Osama bin Laden, Americans cannot have closure over 9/11.

It remains an open wound.

It is a crime against Americans that has gone unpunished.

Bush gave the families of 9/11 victims a promise that he would capture Osama bin Laden.

He has failed.

Although the tragedy that was 9/11 did happen on American soil, we must stop calling it an attack against Americans.

People from more than 80 countries died as a result of the plane crashes, the fires, the detonations of controlled demolition devices, and the collapses.

I wonder what has happened to the woman named Laura who had her skin literally blown off of her from an explosive device on 9/11 but lived. She was all over the news and talk shows for a while. The story was that jet fuel had traveled down the elevator shafts and exploded in the lobby of her building just as she entered it. Then the realization that the elevator shafts were staggered - not straight down from top to bottom - became known and suddenly, Laura disappeared from the media.

TLV

Yes, I knew a Somalian Muslim woman who mentioned that some of her "cousins" had died in the controlled demolitions. She referred to Somalians as cousins. I've mentioned her before. She wore a chador, and when she was on the bus stop with her three small children one day in the weeks after 9/11, a "patriotic" man came up and stomped on her foot, injuring her. No doubt he felt he'd struck a blow for "freedom and democracy" by attacking a Muslim woman.

Is it clear that Bush and Cheney pushed hard on the Taliban for their pipeline, and that the Taliban pushed back? Sorry to rain on your parade, but this was where the pre-emptive strike was learned.

The 9/11 was a great tragedy. The immediate response to this attack by Jihad Muslim bastards was correct and swift: U.S. defeated Taliban and killed and imprisoned whole bunch of Al Qaeda pigs, all with support of the world.
And then came the most IDIOTIC move of all: Iraq. The invasion of a country with, yes a despot but a secular one.
Hussein was more useful alive then dead. He maintained a counter-balance to Iran and held Jihadist nuts in check. Yes, he was a nuisance and a bother, but a rather weak one.
Oh, how U.S. now wishes for a secularist bastard like Hussein to take firm reigns in Iraq. And they might get their wish. Meanwhile, U.S. and Europeans should let Sunnis and Shiites fight it out themselves and redeploy their force to Afghan and exterminate the Al Qaeda cockroaches hiding in their caves.
U.S. come back into Iraq when the civil war is winding down over and claim the role of peacemakers.

Hopefully President H.Clinton will finish the job so badly performed by psychopath Cheney and AWOL George.

It appears that Bill Clinton may have exaggerated his record when it came to strategizing against Osama bin Laden. Newsweek's Michael Isikoff and Mark Hosenball take a look at the Inspector General's report of the pre-9/11 intelligence failures at the CIA and find an interesting nugget. Despite Clinton's angry assertion to Chris Wallace in last year's controversial Fox interview, he never gave the CIA an assassination order regarding bin Laden (h/t: CQ reader Mark):

The report also criticized intelligence problems when Bill Clinton was president, detailing political and legal “constraints” agency officials felt in the late 1990s. In September 2006, during a famous encounter with Fox News anchor Wallace, Clinton erupted in anger and waived his finger when asked about whether his administration had done enough to get bin Laden. “What did I do? What did I do?” Clinton said at one point. “I worked hard to try to kill him. I authorized a finding for the CIA to kill him. We contracted with people to kill him. I got closer to killing him than anybody has gotten since.”
Clinton appeared to have been referring to a December 1999 Memorandum of Notification (MON) he signed that authorized the CIA to use lethal force to capture, not kill, bin Laden. But the inspector general’s report made it clear that the agency never viewed the order as a license to “kill” bin Laden—one reason it never mounted more effective operations against him. “The restrictions in the authorities given the CIA with respect to bin Laden, while arguably, although ambiguously, relaxed for a period of time in late 1998 and early 1999, limited the range of permissible operations,” the report stated. (Scheuer agreed with the inspector general’s findings on this issue, but said if anything the report was overly diplomatic. “There was never any ambiguity,” he said. “None of those authorities ever allowed us to kill anyone. At least that’s what the CIA lawyers told us.” A spokesman for the former president had no immediate comment.)

GhostintheMachine - the 9/11 attacks occurred well into the Bush/Cheney watch, they are irresponsible and discussion of Clinton merely serves Bush/Cheney apologists.

The Clinton administration repeatedly failed to recognize the growing terrorist threat against the United States, even after the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, and was regularly outsmarted by al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden, a new book reveals.

David N. Bossie, author of "Intelligence Failure: How Clinton's National Security Policy Set the Stage for 9/11" (Thomas Nelson/WND), backs up his claims with copious evidence gleaned from extensive research and exclusive interviews.

Bossie, who has written several other books, served as chief investigator for the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Government Reform and Oversight, which unearthed facts about Bill Clinton's Chinese fund-raising scandal, and served on the staff of the Senate's Whitewater committee.

So, unlike other books on the subject, his tome documents Clinton's failures from a unique, insider perspective.

He says Clinton's regime was more concerned with economic and political security — staying in power — instead of national security.

And it showed. From the first attack on the World Trade Center, to the millennium bomber of 1999, to the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000, Clinton's policies contributed to the devastation and loss of life on 9/11.

"... His degrading of America's intelligence and armed forces not only made the attacks of September 11 possible but also increased the likelihood of an attack," the book says.

From the first attack in New York City on, "Clinton made frequent mistakes in his handling of bin Laden."

Bossie’s book has won a major endorsement. Clinton’s own CIA director, R. James Woolsey, has praised it: "This book proves, once and for all, that the FBI and CIA's failures that led to 9/11 were caused directly by Bill Clinton himself."

"The report also seemed to raise new questions about former President Clinton's angry claim to Fox News anchor Chris Wallace last year that he had authorized the CIA to 'kill' Osama bin Laden -- a directive that the report suggested was more ambiguous and limited than Clinton asserted."

[…]

"In September 2006, during a famous encounter with Fox News anchor Wallace, Clinton erupted in anger and waived his finger when asked about whether his administration had done enough to get bin Laden. 'What did I do? What did I do?' Clinton said at one point. 'I worked hard to try to kill him. I authorized a finding for the CIA to kill him. We contracted with people to kill him. The facts remain that the Bush/Cheney White House infestation knew these attacks were coming yet did NOTHING to prevent the destruction and huge loss of life on our soil which resulted.

Why was that?

The famalies better because the RATS and SCUM BAGS in the White House the Racist Nazis Committee (RNC) and the bible thumping HATE MONGERS of the Religious Right will Not,there is nothing to be gained by Photo Ops, (talking Monkey in the White House), the ScumBags from the Racist Nazis Committee (RNC) can't justify their stealing anymore nor do they care how many Americans die as they DO NOT consider the soldier a AMERICAN, he is a tool to Justify their PROFITS (remeber there isn 't a SAmerican that a republican DOESN'T HATE.
The religious right has no more Hot Button issues at present so there is NO hell fire and damnation since they found out they are Queerer then the Gay population and are less proud of it openly.
