Presidential hopeful Barack Obama plans to make a major policy speech on Iraq when he comes to Clinton, Iowa, Wednesday, a Democratic official who's familiar with the campaign's plans said Sunday. ...

The address on Iraq, the official said, will include new policy proposals on troop withdrawals, diplomacy in Iraq and the region and ideas about what to do about the humanitarian crisis in Iraq. He'll also talk about his ideas for U.S. leadership in the region after the war, the official said.

In January, Obama announced a plan to begin a troop withdrawal that was to have begun by last May. The goal was to have combat brigades out of the country by March 31, 2008.

Obama will be accompanied on this trip by Zbigniew Brezezinski, the national security adviser for Jimmy Carter. Brezezinski announced his support for Obama last month.

Yes, but if we go that fast out of Iraq the Haliburton Mercenaries combat pay will stop.

THE very best withdrawl plan is the ONBE WEEK AND OUT plan where the hardware goes to Turkey and Kuwait and the soldiers fly out 300 every 5 minutes. If I am not mistaken more soldiers and equipment landed at Normandy in JUNE of 1944 -- in the first week -- than are in Iraq.

OBAMA should adapt this plan which could be implemeneted in early December with proper planning. The other candidates are wrong about
it requiring months and months -- if they were right the invasion of Normany would never ever have come off.

Brain damaged for Bu$h?

Iraq brain injuries challenge troops, doctors
CNN.com - Sep 10 8:00 AMNASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) -- The war in Iraq is not over, but one legacy is already here in this city and others across America: an epidemic of brain-damaged soldiers.

Thousands of troops have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury, or TBI. These blast-caused head injuries are so different from the ones doctors are used to seeing from falls and car crashes that treating them is as much faith as it is science.

"I've been in the field for 20-plus years dealing with TBI. I have a very experienced staff. And they're saying to me, 'We're seeing things we've never seen before,"' said Sandy Schneider, director of Vanderbilt University's brain injury rehabilitation program.

So, are you saying that the average Joe is too stupid to form a basic comprehensive sentence ? Even Tarzan makes more sense when he talks than this.

Sad.

The headline should say: "Obama draws up plans for surrender".

I hope this policy speech is not totally twisted around as the msm likes to do with Obama. but, he is going to have Bzrezinski with him.
As for the Oprah effect, I think it will have good impact and make Obama the politician known to her viewers. Her many, many viewers.

Your paranoid conspiracy theories about the msm really have no place in serious discourse and is a huge people why you and your kind are dismissed - and rightfully so.

I'm with you. It will be interesting to see if the media pick out one aspect of his speech and create twisted headlines to get news out of it. Hopefully it will force people to read his whole speech or see the video, if there's one. I can hardly wait to hear what he has to say.

The question is how much difference will Oprah have on Obama's Presidential campaign, can she effectively alter results or just sway vote ------------> http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=460

I heard 32 million people watch Oprah everyday. Either way, that's definitely got to account for something positive for Obama.
