I really loved this book! I did not want to put it down! The writing is great, so was the details. Some of the writing took me off guard, the words used. It took a bit of getting use to. Once you get pass some of the graphic details that is suppose to be going on in a thirteen year old girls mind, you just really enjoy it. I loved the realness in the characters thoughts and language. Despite some of the seriousness in the book, there was quite a few laugh out louds! I would recommend this book to anyone open minded. I even passed the book to my mother to read(she's 53) and she loved it too. The author does an excellent job at going into the mind of a thirteen year old, and convincing you that is her age!

If you go to the Barnes and Noble website you will find similar rave reviews from readers of "Towelhead", the book this film was based on. Seems to be we have more of the conservative overreaction crap here that's based on their phony moral values rather than on reality.

This is worse than hip hop, sick motherfuck$rs.

Why anyone from FOX news tries to take the "high ground of self-righteous family values" in this matter and don't have the courage to look at their own mendacity in Iraq. Sex with underage kids is wrong but supporting thousands to die for a lie that Fox supports on a daily basis makes them the last place to go for truth and justice, even in movie reviews. Everything is tainted with Jabba Ailes and stinks to high heaven just like him.

This film is not due to be released until Jan 2008. There is no trailer available to watch. It has established actors that are not known to be either political or perverse (Eckhert, Collette, Bello.....) though they are known to push cultural mores, they are not porn stars.
More important this link is from FoxNews. That alone should have been a major clue that this information is NOT verifiable, truthful or anything but titilation for titilation fools (eg O'Reilly, Hannity, Horowitz)
I don't know the truth about this film, but the truth is neither do you.

Grow up, people. Does anybody actually believe that this movie is going to be "explicit" or "near-porn", kiddie or otherwise? Apparently it's been rated R, which means it will be less explicit than what a lot of kids can see on premium cable any night of the week. And Summer Bishil was already 18 when her scenes were shot. People who have seen it (I haven't) say it's a great movie, and of course all the controversy will be great for ticket sales, so maybe it's the film's publicists that are planting these items...

jedevich had it right. This is a film. There was no kiddie porn, and she was no minor. The only difference between this and Lolita is very likely the graphic depictions of the sex.

Seen the movie "Kids?" Teen sex has been there, done that.
