The Daily Mail (UK):

A simple course of vitamin D could help you live longer, say researchers.

Trials involving 57,000 people found that those who took supplements regularly were less likely to die over the six-year period.

Scientists have already shown that a deficiency of vitamin D may be to blame for 600,000 cancer cases each year. Other studies have linked low levels of the vitamin with heart disease and diabetes.

I emailed The American Cancer Society several days ago, asking why they do not recomend organic fruits and vegetables, organic meats,(for those that eat meat) and 15 minutes of natural sunlight a day as strategies to reduce the skyrocketing rates of cancer, and they referred me to the FDA and the EPA.Please refer to Dr. Samuel Epstein's website www.preventcancer.com for excellent information about protecting your health.

Remember: Moderate exposure to UV light in a tanning bed is healthy too. Overexposure (sunburn) or excessive exposure (tanorexia) is bad but occasional indoor tanning will process all the healthy vitamin D3 a human body can use.

10 minutes of sunlight in the Winter in Boston is not the same as 10 minutes on the beach in Miami in the Summer. Tanning in the controlled environment of a tanning salon will eliminate vitamin D deficiency.

Dermatologists are misleading the public about the relative risks and benefits of UV light exposure. Moderate tanning is healthy behavior. A great looking tan is a bonus benefit and a clear sign that you are not vitamin D deficient.

I admit that I will probably start taking it, but I suspect they will come out with a study in a few more years saying it is harmful.

All you need is ten minutes of natural sunlight a day.

Try leaving your apartment, condo.
