Insurgents Attack US Headquarters In Iraq

Associated Press:

Insurgents fired rockets or mortars Tuesday at the sprawling garrison that houses the headquarters of American forces in Iraq, killing one person and wounding 11 coalition soldiers, the U.S. command said.

The command said the person killed was a "third country national," meaning someone who is not an American or Iraqi. Most troops stationed at Camp Victory are American but other coalition soldiers are based at the complex near Baghdad International Airport. No further details on the attack were immediately released.

Our media in Europe reports there are no structures of the Maliki government in Iraq anymore. Everybody fights almost against everybody. The Kurds in the north, Shiites and Sunnis in the middle and the south. The land is practically shared and controlled by clans. The only province where the US is a little bit safe is the Anbar province. ( where Bush landed in the dark ) But from what is reported, the USA is paying incredible sums of money to Iraqi warlords to leave the troops alone.

During Daddy Bush's Gulf War, thousands of Iraqis were relocated to the US. What for? To train as assassins. To be able to drop them behind enemy lines and become "insurgents". Problem, reaction, solution. Too bad we can't trust our government anymore. Too bad our government is run by people who profit by war, like arms dealers and bankers who arm and loan to both sides. Time to stay home and bring the bankers to their knees.

AP Interview: Abizaid cites Iraq's needs
AP via Yahoo! News - 52 minutes agoIt will take three to five years before Iraq's government is stable enough to operate on its own, according to the former commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East, who said the surge of American forces has not solved the country's broader problems.

If we nuked Iraq, would that render the oil useless ? I'm just trying to figure out why the cons didn't turn the whole country into glass, it surely isn't because they love Iraqis.

so..... the GOOD news is that it wasn't the Iraqi equivalent of the Tet Offensive, though you can be sure a message was being sent.

The longer we wait to leave the worse it's going to get. If you thought Saigon wa a mess, try getting our troops and equipment back to Kuwait through a few roads lined with IED's. All those nice isolated bases in the desert are going to be like Dien Bien Phu - Khe Sahn's in the sand.....

and if we are stupid enough to hit Iran in any way shape or form, they've got enough Soviet cruise missles to cause REAL havoc on those bases.... we forget about that nice huge ammo dump explosion a while back.... kept out of the media very nicely... THAT will be nothing compared to what can be done.

Bush is passing a live grenade on to the next Presidnet, hoping it doesn't go off in his hands... and the Dems are letting him do so.... it's GOING to blow up on someone - the only unknown is how badly and when

The Iraqi Freedom Fighters want to wrest their country, their natural resources, and their future from a brutal and immoral occupier.

They will fight to the death.. and they will prevail. It's only a matter of time - there's too many of them for us to simply kill them all.

Did you notice how this story is being covered up by the Pentagon? IT happened several hours ago but so far nothing new has been reported and no updates.

The names of the US wounded will not be reported anyway under the new rules since the VA hospital scandals.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Seven soldiers killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq were members of the 82nd Airborne Division's 2nd Brigade, a military spokesman said Tuesday.

The accident in western Baghdad also injured 10 other soldiers from the unit, based at North Carolina's Fort Bragg, along with one additional detainee, said division spokesman Maj. Tom Earnhardt. Two detainees also were killed.

The soldiers were returning from a raid that took place late Sunday and early Monday when their truck "veered off an elevated highway" and fell about 30 feet, Earnhardt said.

"We all grieve with our families over these recent losses, yet we remain committed to our missions," Earnhardt said.

Just to call this "Camp Victory" is slapping the Iraqis in the face. Talk about goading them!!! This needs to end now. Time to bring home the troops and impeach the administration. We need to restore sanity so we may once again use the words "sanity" and "democracy" in the same sentence.

It's really called "Camp Victory"?

They should stop calling them "the insurgents" and just change it officially to "the bad guys".
