CNN:

Five days after he officially jumped into the Republican race for the White House, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson finds himself in a statistical dead heat with frontrunner Rudy Giuliani, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out Tuesday.

The former New York City mayor garners 28 percent nationally among registered Republicans while Thompson is only one point behind at 27 percent -- well within the poll's 5 percentage point margin of error. In a similar poll taken in August, Giuliani registered 29 percent while Thompson, then not yet an official presidential candidate, was at 22 percent.

We're still too far away from the primaries. Lots and lots of time for all the candidates to ruin their reputations, spoil their relationships with "the base" and fall along the wayside. Right now, it's just sit in front of the big screen tv season with a bowl o' popcorn and an icy Diet Coke, and watch them tumble each other to the mat. Without ole Karl Rove sittin' behind the curtain, pullin' switches and haulin' on the ropes, this could be a very entertaining political season. To be followed, of course, by the mud-slingingest balls-to-the-walls general election we ever did see! Boo-yah!

Mitty will do something...he is of the proper upbringing to lie and cheat his way into anything. I hope he does not...but he will.

Stay out of our business. You don't live in America. You hate our country. Why not plan your next trip to France instead?

Just think if John Wayne was still alive and announced he was running, everyone else would just go home.

Not to worry. Right Said Fred is temporarily benefitting from the meaningless "New Kid Bounce".
Wait until the MSM trains its high-power searchlights on him and his laughable "track record". It'll be just like what happens when you flip on your kitchen lights at midnight; except, unlike a roach, he's too big to scuttle under the refrigerator, and will be quickly stomped.

Is Fred born again? if not he better hurry up.
He is not a real candidate, he just plays one in the Republi-con party.

Dumb and Dumberer.

Still, the Dems might find a way to lose.

Dems are shakin' in their shoes over Fred!

Its the race of the adulterers.

Ron Paul is the only real guy in the race on the republican side but I have to admit other than that the GOP are pathetic. The Dems are a bunch of CFR gobalist nitwits but the partisans can't see that the only one on their side is Gravel and Kucinich. John Edwards would be ok if he is not in the CFR (There are conflicting stories) but the Bildeburger meeting doesn't make me feel better.

You said it right my friend. We have too many globalist minded puppets that are beholding to the
international banking crowd. I love Ron Paul, even though I do not agree with some of the same things
he says.

Thompson will be the next president. Thompson will win simply because he's an actor on a popular TV series.
