Rosie O'Donnell has some words of advice for Barbara Walters: Go, already.

In her upcoming memoir, Celebrity Detox, which sheds light on, among other episodes in her life, the TV star's tumultuous stint last season on The View, O'Donnell, 45, addresses Walters, 77, to say, "And Barbara. At some point, a person gets tired. It's inevitable," the New York Post reports.

"Barbara Walters is almost twice my age," the book (which is to be published Oct. 2) is quoted as saying. "At some point it becomes necessary to step back. Everyone has to go. Going is part of the gig."

Barbara Walters is trying to be the iconic news woman, chat show maven, and New York socialite all at once, then gets her knickers in a twist when her worlds collide. Tough luck, Barb. Suck it up. It will happen again.

The MSM is on a campaign to discredit Rosie because she has the balls to tell the truth, and they're in the business of telling lies. And Barbara Walters is as MSM as it gets.

I have always supported Rosie - 1000% and I
totally share her political views, however,
her statements about Ms. Walter's age are totally out of line. They lack respect,
and class and they are just plain mean.
Ms. Walters is a legend, I disagree totally
with Barbara's politics, as she is a staunch
Republican, but I respect her and the class
she has shown throughout all of this Rosie &
Star Jones crap. Both Rosie and Jones
displayed how low class they really are and
Barbara showed the class she has. She treated
them both with respect and class and she gave
them jobs, and she was treated horribly by them.
But it is Barbara who has won, she is on top
and will be for a long long time. She is a
woman of great class, she rises above the
poor behavior of these has-beens.
And Barbara contiunes to soar, may she continue
for a long long time. She is a very classy
LADY!

barbara walters is and always has been a fake!!...i witnessed this first hand and close up once as she interviewed then mayor ed koch at a restaurant one sunday afternoon in manhattan on seventh avenue south, literally not more than ten feet away from me...she would ask a question then stop and ask if the mayor wanted her to re-ask it differently for him! or he would answer a question and then barbara would ask him if he wanted to re-answer it!!

afterwards mayor koch sat with us and talked for about 15 minutes...when one person asked him what he thought of barbara walters as an interviewer he rolled his eyes, laughed and said "you call that an interview?

What is up? Yes Rosie can be a loud-mouthed ass but at least she brought some passion to the View, whether you agreed with her often distorted and delusional political and social stances or not (witness the 911 conspiracy crap).

Rosie's big problem is that she is and always will be - an in your face New Yorker and if you cross her she will hold a grudge till the day she goes on that big vacation cruise in the sky. If she could just lighten up and move on once in a while it would reduce her obnoxiousness to the level of about 20 grain sand paper.

I used to Tivo the View so I could cherrypick the 5-10 minutes of reasonable dialog between panel members and skip the rest of the bullshit but it's not worth the disc space now and I don't expect that Whoopie will elevate the level of discourse to any measurable degree. She is not very well informed and it always seems like she has had one too many Jamaican Qualudes the night before.

Maybe it is time for Ms WaWa to step down - I just wish there was someone with enough stature and clout to make the View into what is should be - a dynamic forum for smart, involved women to give their takes on what is going on in this sorry ass world we find ourselves in. I'm out.

my take on this is ---- anyone over the age 35 on tv should take a hike, and this is coming from someone who is 58 yrs. old. --- I'm tired of the same conversation over and over --- its time for a fresh start, some new ideas, some talk about solutions. these people have been around too long, have become too comfortable in their positions. this year on this channel, the next year on that channel. same old, same old, day in and day out !!!!

Who is Rosie to decide when someone should retire and just go away? I hope I'm as active and successful as Barbara Walters when I am 77. Rosie obviously has severe mental health issues and needs help. And she should look in the mirror and check herself before she lashes out at anyone else.
