People :

Rosie O'Donnell has some words of advice for Barbara Walters: Go, already.

In her upcoming memoir, Celebrity Detox, which sheds light on, among other episodes in her life, the TV star's tumultuous stint last season on The View, O'Donnell, 45, addresses Walters, 77, to say, "And Barbara. At some point, a person gets tired. It's inevitable," the New York Post reports.

"Barbara Walters is almost twice my age," the book (which is to be published Oct. 2) is quoted as saying. "At some point it becomes necessary to step back. Everyone has to go. Going is part of the gig."

I'm sorry, the fault here all the way around, is Barbara's. It was her show, she has had FIVE co-hosts leave for various reasons, and each time, she has tried to act like it was all out of her hands. It is public knowledge that she is a co-owner, co-producer of "The View" - yet the hiring and firing is out of her hands? Bullshit. She made a one-off remark to Rosie about joining "The View" - and Rosie, flattered, accepted. Barbara should have done her homework and known where Rosie was at, and what she's known for. Putting her in the same battleground as someone like Bill Geddes (the other producer, and co-owner with Barbara of the show) who's beliefs are so different from O'Donnell's- and turning the show into a spectacle, was all him. ("The View" could have easily made all of the clips from the show unavailable, the same way Oprah does, instead every crackpot tabloid tv show had access) Rosie was wise to leave when she did, because she knew she was being exploited, and had been, since day one. If Barbara is upset because Rosie told the truth about it, TOUGH SHIT. She should have joined her, kept The View a relevant show, and increased the awareness of her demographic. Now we're back to a boring gabfest, and one million viewers less than last year. Good Luck.

Agree. BW wants to produce a show called "
The View". She wants women of differnt backgrounds to share their views. She gets one diva that only wants to talk about her self. Bye-bye. She gets one sensible one. Offered a new gig. She gets a young dip-shit Bye-bye. She gets a younger sensible one. Wants out. What does she have left. A young narrow-minded airhead that has to be briefed on what subject to discuss every morning and a somewhat moody middle aged woman that hates GWB ( I like her the best). On comes Rosie who actually wanted to talk about important issues and whether you agreed with her at least it got people talking. She insults a few of BW's friends (why would anyone want to be friends with Donald Trump?) and all of a sudden it Rosie gets set up and dumped on after bringing ratings up. It was because of Rosie. Now it is back to stupid shit like sex, bras, britany. Who cares. BW doesn't even have a view so why is she even on the show. Rosie is right - time to say good-night Barbara.

Subject of the latest show. Is Brittany fat?
Fat Chick says "No, she looks healthy", Airhead says "I am not fat I am Pregnant.", gal who hates Bush says, "Brittany had two kids, cut her a brake" Whooppie says , "Go to Commercial! Where is my check?"

That is the whole show. This is the 9/11 show

I remember how often I'd cringe as a couple of times each show before Rosie was on board, Barbara would simper to Geddes and refer to him as "the viewmaster" as though all those silly women needed a man to tell them what to do. I found it offensive and sad.

Rosie comes on the show and suddenly, Geddes is backstage where he belongs. That alone endeared her to me. I didn't always agree with her but I always felt she was honest about her views. She said what she felt without caring about the consequenses.

My sister called me today, angry because she was watching the View and they have completely reverted to mindless drivel. TODAY of all days.

I haven't watched since Rosie's last day and I don't miss the show at all. I do visit rosie.com every day so I get my Rosie fix without having to put up with the whining Elisabeth Hasselbeck as she works to make sure that the view of Bill Geddes (who coaches her each morning according to Rosie) gets air time.

I did watch for sometime today. Looks like Barbara, whom I do like, has lost all of her marbles. She had to choose another one track minded person, only difference from the other one track minder is she does not have a shrill voice and does not screams all the time. In the morning or any other time that voice of Elizabeth is very annoying.
Joy is the one who tries to make it interesting by trying her best not to be phoney.

Yes exactly. I'm embarrassed for Joy and Whoopie. The remaining women seem to be well-coached on what is permissable to say. When Barbara is on the show is entirely unwatchable. Barbara reaches for her "life Alert" whenever anyone mentions the war. There is little debate, only rehearsed dialog. Rosie made that show so much better and more real. Whoopie is a nice person who seems to "know where her place is", and Joy looks miserable. Wheather you like Rosie or not, she was interesting. Barbara's pandering to celebrities makes her useless as a journalist. Rosie is right, right, right.

Yes Rosie, we all have to go, so take your own advice. Only you and Barbara went on behind the scenes, but all we see is what we see on the screen. From the viewer's perspective, you have lost the personality contest. Work on your image, or go be a full-time parent.

The real Rosie is a robot on the Jetsons. This obese one in the article with the oddly small mouth that makes so much obnoxious noise -- is a disgusting pig.

End of story.....

I love all the idiots here attacking Rosie...Barbara Walters should have retired ages ago. She is a terrible reporter, a terrible interviewer, a lousy producer of a show. Rosie is only saying the obvious. I don't believe people should quit due to their age unless they become incapable of carrying out their workload, but Barbara has never been good at what she does. Rosie, kick ass!
